The law university will organise a two-day national seminar on "Live-in-relationship: Impact on family laws in India."

The national law university Visakhapatnam is all set to conduct a national seminar on "Live-in-relationship: Impact on family laws in India" on March 11 and March 12, 2023.

The registration fee for academicians, legal practitioners and judicial officers is INR 1500, for students, and research scholars, it is INR 800 and for foreign delegates, the fee is USD 100.

As per the report of the live law, the legality of live-in relationships in India is quite muzzled and it finds its roots in Article 21 of the Indian Constitution. 

The issue is still debatable in our country and there is a dire requirement to relook into the concept of live-in relations and its impact on family laws in India, and this two-day seminar is an endeavour in this direction and its aim is to facilitate articulation of views, ideas, electrifying initiatives and suggestions from all the stakeholders.

The last date to submit the abstract is January 23, acceptance will be communicated by February 3 and the last date to submit a full paper is February 23, 2022.

The themes are - live-in relationships and culture, live-in relationships and women, and live-in relationships and children.

Submission guidelines

All submissions must be in word format and the text must be in Times New Roman, size 12 with 1.5 spacing, the Bluebook (20th ed) is to be followed for the citation format, and footnotes should be in Times New Roman, 10 font size and single spacing.
