IIM Calcutta has released the candidate data for CAT 2024 exam. Around 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the national level exam on November 24, 2024 out of 3.29 lakh registered eligible candidates.
Issuing a press release, the IIMCAT said, “Around 2.93 lakh candidates appeared for the exam out of 3.29 lakh registered eligible candidates. The overall attendance was approximately 89%. Of the 2.93 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam, 1.07 lakh are female candidates, 1.86 lakh are male candidates and 5 are transgender candidates.” Last year, the number of CAT applications was 3.30 lakh and number of test takers was 2.88 lakh.

The CAT 2024 exam was conducted at 389 test centres in 170 cities across India. This year, IIM Calcutta conducted the CAT exam and the question paper was easier than previous years.
Now, the CAT 2024 response sheet and official answer keys are awaited. CAT 2024 result can be expected in the third week of December 2024. Although, the IIMCAT website says, that the result will be announced in the second week of January 2025, it has been seen in the last two years that the scorecard was released in December, instead of January.
