The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, under the direction of Professor B S Sahay, recently inaugurated the second Capacity Building Program for officials from the Planning and Monitoring Department and the Finance Department of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
Running from October 14 to 16, 2024, this training program is coordinated by the Executive Education and Consultancy Department for the Centre for Innovation and Transformation in Governance (CITaG) at IIM Jammu. This initiative is part of a broader vision by the Planning Development & Monitoring Department, Government of J&K, aiming to foster transformational change within the state. IIM Jammu acts as the Nodal Knowledge Partner for CITaG, which collaborates with various national bodies, including the State Institute of Transformation and the NITI Aayog, to enhance governance frameworks.
Participants were invited to share their expectations and objectives for the program, setting a collaborative tone for the sessions to come.
Dignitaries in Attendance
The inaugural event was attended by several key figures, including Dr Anuja Akhouri, Program Director; Dr Pratik Maheshwari, Co-Chairperson of Executive Education and Consultancy; Dr Rashmi Ranjan Parida; and Dr Bijoy Rakshit, all from IIM Jammu. Their presence underscored the importance of this initiative in shaping effective governance in Jammu & Kashmir.
Ceremony Highlights
The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem, followed by a visit to the Nalanda Library, a group photo session, and high tea, allowing participants and faculty to network and engage further.
Future Goals of CITaG
The Centre for Innovation and Transformation in Governance (CITaG) aims to drive positive change and innovation in governance by focusing on capacity building, fostering public-private partnerships, and creating frameworks for future-ready governance. The overarching goal is to elevate Jammu & Kashmir to the standards of the best-performing states and Union Territories in India, ensuring sustainable development and effective public service delivery.
