The Indian Institute of Management Rohtak celebrated the induction of its 15th batch of the prestigious Post-Graduate Programme (MBA) with an impressive display of diversity and professional experience. The batch, comprising students hailing from 24 states and union territories, stands out with a remarkable 73 percent female representation. This cohort brings together graduates from a wide array of disciplines including engineering, science, commerce, management, arts, law, design, architecture, pharmacy, and journalism.
Industry Experience and Sporting Excellence Highlighted
According to IIM Rohtak officials, many students in this batch bring with them valuable work experience from prominent organizations such as Accenture, Bank of America, Capgemini, Cognizant, Deloitte Consulting, Ernst and Young LLP, HCL Technologies, Infosys, KPMG, NatWest Group, Oracle Financial Services Software, PwC, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Samsung, TATA Steel Ltd., TCS, Wipro, among others. Additionally, the cohort includes talented athletes who have excelled at the state level in sports like badminton, throwball, and basketball.
Grand Induction Ceremony Marks the Beginning
The induction ceremony for the MBA Programme 2024 took place on June 29 and 30, 2024, with distinguished guests including Shatrujeet Kapur, DGP of Haryana; Nidhi Khare, secretary of the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Government of India; and Gen A K Singh (Retd), former governor of Andaman Nicobar Islands & Puducherry. The event, chaired by Dheeraj Sharma, Director of IIM Rohtak, welcomed the new students amidst insightful speeches and words of advice from the esteemed guests.
Focus on Education, Networking, and Innovation
Shatrujeet Kapur highlighted the pivotal role of education and networking in shaping future leaders, urging students to embrace diversity and excel in their chosen fields. Nidhi Khare emphasized responsible innovation for sustainable growth, underscoring the transformative power of knowledge beyond financial gains. Gen A K Singh stressed the values of integrity and resilience, encouraging students to contribute meaningfully to society.
Leadership Panels Offer Strategic Insights
The induction event featured enlightening panels on leadership strategies and personal growth. The first panel, comprised of industry stalwarts like Navneet Bansal and Ritesh Agarwal, emphasized the importance of continuous self-leadership, teamwork, and adaptability in professional settings. They discussed the distinction between leadership and management, urging students to set clear goals and learn from challenges.
The second panel, featuring retired military generals, drew parallels between military and corporate leadership, stressing values such as vision articulation, team motivation, and resilience in achieving organizational goals.
