IIM Sambalpur hosts Nurturing Future Leadership Programme under Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme

This five-day residential initiative aimed to equip faculty members from various universities with essential technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills required for effective leadership roles within higher education institutions (HEIs).

Aligned with the National Education Policy, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur recently organized the ‘Nurturing Future Leadership Programme’ (NFLP) as part of the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP). This five-day residential initiative aimed to equip faculty members from various universities with essential technical, managerial, and interpersonal skills required for effective leadership roles within higher education institutions (HEIs).

Focus Areas of NFLP

NFLP focused on cultivating a deep understanding of effective leadership, identifying challenges in academic governance, and fostering strategic thinking to manage organizations. The programme also aimed to enhance cross-functional coordination, conflict resolution, and consensus-building skills crucial for academic and administrative excellence.

Inaugural Ceremony and Sessions

The inaugural ceremony commenced with a session on "Strategic Leadership for Academic Governance & 21st Century Learning" led by Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director of IIM Sambalpur. Professor Jaiswal emphasized the strategic approach needed in Indian higher education to enhance quality, research, innovation, and global competitiveness.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from esteemed institutions including IIT Jodhpur, Banaras Hindu University, Magadh University, Visvesvaraya Technical University, Revenshaw University, Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Rajendra University, Ramadevi Women's University, and Central Sanskrit University.

The NFLP by IIM Sambalpur marked a significant initiative under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme, aiming to empower educators with transformative leadership skills. The comprehensive curriculum and expert-led sessions provided a platform for academic leaders to hone their capabilities, ensuring effective management and strategic advancement within higher education institutions.
