IIM Shillong Teams Up with SIDBI to Launch Comprehensive Entrepreneurship Incubation Initiative
The Indian Institute of Management Shillong (IIM Shillong), through its IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation and Enterprise (IIMSFIE), has formally signed an agreement with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). This collaboration represents a significant milestone in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation within the state. The signing ceremony took place at IIM Shillong and aims to offer essential entrepreneurship training and incubation support to aspiring entrepreneurs.
By utilizing SIDBI's extensive network alongside IIMSFIE's infrastructure and expertise, the initiative aims to establish a strong support system to nurture innovative startups and enterprises, according to the IIM Shillong statement. As part of this collaboration, IIMSFIE will launch the Skill to Enterprise Model (STEM) program in partnership with SIDBI.
The STEM program aims to provide aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, knowledge, and mentorship necessary to turn their innovative ideas into successful businesses, according to the IIM Shillong statement. As part of this initiative, IIMSFIE will offer an intensive 18-month entrepreneurship training program for 30 selected candidates.
The programme offers classroom teaching, hands-on training, incubation support at IIMSFIE, and personalized mentorship to participating candidates. The focus of the programme is to foster the development of innovative and sustainable enterprises, empowering candidates to create sustainable livelihoods.
