IMI Bhubaneswar celebrated 12th Annual Convocation Ceremony by conferring degrees to 180 students and notable awards to the top-performing graduates.

IMI Bhubaneswar 12th Annual Convocation Ceremony: International Management Institute Bhubaneswar (IMI Bhubaneswar) recently celebrated its 12th Annual Convocation Ceremony, marking a significant milestone for 180 students, including one Fellow Program in Management (FPM) graduate. The event was graced by Mohan Charan Majhi, Chief Minister of Odisha, who served as the Chief Guest, along with esteemed guests Sunil Mitra, Independent Director at CESC Ltd., and Himadri Das, Director General, IMI Bhubaneswar.

Recognizing Excellence: Awards and Medals

The convocation ceremony was a celebration of exceptional student achievements, with notable awards given to the top-performing graduates:

  • Divyansh Singh was honored with the Gold Medal and the prestigious Dr Rama Prasad Goenka Best Student Medal, recognizing his outstanding academic performance and overall contributions.
  • Dipti Shaw received the Silver Medal for her exemplary achievements during her course.
  • Tanmay Ranjan Sahoo was awarded the Director's Medal for his comprehensive contributions to the academic and co-curricular activities at IMI Bhubaneswar.

Additionally, the Summer Internship Project (SIP) Awards celebrated innovative and impactful projects undertaken by students during their internships. Ms. Madhurima Majumdar secured the top spot, followed by Mr. Ayan Dutta and Mr. Rohit Saraiwala.

In his address, Professor (Dr.) P.C. Biswal, Director of IMI Bhubaneswar, highlighted the institute's continuous progress and success. He proudly shared that IMI Bhubaneswar had earned a remarkable NIRF ranking of 61 among 876 participating institutes. Additionally, the institute had received the esteemed international accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), underscoring its commitment to global standards in management education.

Professor Biswal also highlighted faculty accomplishments, noting the publication of 82 Scopus-indexed research papers in the previous academic year, a testament to the institute’s strong academic focus. His inspiring words to the graduates emphasized the importance of empathy, innovation, and leadership in the world of business. He stated, “At IMI Bhubaneswar, we nurture empathetic leaders, conscious changemakers, and drivers of innovation. As you graduate today, remember that the future belongs to those who dare to dream and take decisive action.”

International Outreach and New Programs

Professor Biswal also shared updates on the institute’s international outreach, highlighting recent seminars that attracted renowned researchers from Portugal and the UAE. The institute has also been collaborating with prominent global institutions like EGADE Business School, hosting flagship conferences to foster academic excellence.

In line with the evolving needs of the industry, he announced the launch of an online certificate program in “People Analytics” for corporate executives. This is part of a broader strategy to develop innovative programs catering to the upskilling needs of professionals. Moreover, he proudly shared the successful completion of the ESG assurance audit by Ernst & Young, reinforcing IMI Bhubaneswar’s commitment to sustainability and responsible governance.

Q:   Is International Management Institute Bhubaneswar good for MBA?

A:

The overall placement experience was satisfactory, with the highest package offering a total of 12.05 License Points (LPs). The median package offered was 8.4 License Points per year, and the lowest package offered was 5.5 License Points per year. During the period of covid-19, majority of the students were successful in their placement, with the participation of four major companies, including KPMG and Deloitte. Additionally, EY was present for the final placement. The summer placement experience was considered to be average.

IMI Bhubaneswar has been ranked 63 in India and 3rd in Odisha by National Institute of Ranking Framework (NIRF) - 2020 Ranking. According to this data it is good for MBA.
