GMAC releases the NMAT scorecards within 48 hours of the exam submission. Candidates who took the NMAT exam will be able to check their official scorecards within 48 hours at mba.com.
Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), the conducting body of the NMAT exam, has been releasing official NMAT scorecards within 48 hours of the test. While candidates get an immediate, unofficial score upon submission of the test responses, the final scorecard, also known as the official NMAT scorecard, aids the admission process.
NMAT uses a unique adaptive testing format. The difficulty of questions adapts to each candidate's performance in his/her previous answer. Those who answer correctly will subsequently get a tougher set of questions, while those who struggle answering a question will receive easier ones. This ensures a fair assessment for everyone, regardless of when they take the exam.
However, to equalise the scale of performance in the NMAT exam, the final score is scaled within the range of 12 and 360. The final NMAT results are calculated using a complex statistical model. This scaling process adjusts raw scores to account for differences in question difficulty and other factors, providing a more accurate measure of a candidate's ability.
Through the unofficial score, received after submitting the responses, candidates get a quick estimate of how well they performed in the NMAT exam. The participating b-schools consider the scaled scores for admissions processes.
Candidates find the NMAT scorecard on the login dashboard available on the official website of GMAC, mba.com.
GMAC Shares NMAT Scorecard with Participating BSchools
The NMAT score card will be reported with a scaled NMAT score for each section of the exam and a total result. Candidates had to choose five b-school preferences while filling the NMAT application form. GMAC shares the official score report with these b-schools for admissions processes. Candidates were allowed to choose more than five b-schools by paying a processing fee for the same.
