ACPPGMEC, Gandhinagar, declares Provisional PG medical merit list

The admissions committee for professional graduate medical education courses (ACPPGMEC), Gandhinagar, has declared its provisional merit list that has 3,131 students.

In Gujarat, the admissions committee for professional graduate medical education courses (ACPPGMEC), Gandhinagar, has announced its provisional merit list consisting of 3,131 students.

Candidates who have objections regarding the provisional merit list can approach the ACPPGMEC with a representation till January 17.

There are 24 NRIs and 22 in-service doctors on the merit list. There are 1,048 in the open category, 221 in ST, 229 in SC, 908 in SEBC, and 725 in the EWS category.

While the first round of admissions for the state quota will be held from January 20 to January 24, the admission process for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test for postgraduate courses (NEET-PG) under the All India Quota (AIQ) was on hold due to the pending case in Supreme Court regarding the OBC and EWS category reservation. NEET PG 2021 results were declared in September last year. 

The Supreme Court has upheld the 27% OBC and 10% EWS reservation under AIQ and admissions for AIQ will be carried out first, from January 12 to 21 after which state quota seats will be filled.

In Gujarat, there are a total of 2,060 seats in MD, MS and postgraduate diploma medical courses and of these 1,200 seats are for the state quota. 

As many as 3,210 students had registered between November 12-17. Nearly 3,147 candidates had got their documents verified. 

The candidates who are allocated seats in the first round will have to join colleges by February 2.
