Chhattisgarh Medical Colleges offer 300 MD, MS seats this academic year

As per the recent notification of the Directorate of Medical Education (DMER), Chhattisgarh, the state will offer 300 MD, MS seats this academic year.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DMER), Chhattisgarh has released the postgraduate medical seat matrix of MD (Doctor of Medicine) and MS (Master of Surgery) courses. As per the notification, the total number of PG medical seats in Chhattisgarh is 300. Among these, 201 seats are in the Government Medical Colleges (GMCs) and 99 seats are offered in the private medical colleges.

In GMCs, 142 seats are available in Raipur, 36 seats are in Bilaspur, 10 seats in Jagdalpur, 6 seats in Raigarh, and 7 seats in Rajnandgaon. Among these 201 seats, 100 seats are for All India Quota (AIQ), 17 seats are for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates and 84 seats are for state quota admissions.

As far as private medical colleges are concerned, out of 99 seats, 42 seats are available in RIMS Medical College Raipur, 57 seats are available in Shri Shankaracharya Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhilai. 14 out of these 99 seats are for Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates.

DMER, Chhattisgarh has also notified on January 1 that the last date for submitting the online application form for MD/MS seats has been extended from December 31, 2021, to January 5, 2022, up to 5:00 PM. The state is offering MD/MS courses in various subjects including MD in Anaesthesiology, Biochemistry, General Medicine, General Surgery, Obs & Gynae, Opthalmology, Orthopedics, Preventive & Social Medicine, Paediatrics and more.
