GMC Nanded: Docs' Association seeks unconditional apology from MP Hemant Patil for humiliating Dean

As per reports, MP Hemant Patil humiliated the Dean of Dr Shankarrao Chavan Government Medical College and Hospital in Nanded that saw 24 deaths in 24 hours by forcing him to clean a toilet which was not clean.

"Central MARD demands an unconditional apology from MP Hemant Patil for abusing. harassing and humiliating the Dean of the Medical college without waiting for proper investigation to seek out the root cause of the tragedy," tweeted Central MARD.

Maharashtra State Association of Resident Doctors (Central MARD) condemned this act by the Member of Parliament. It also stated that despite doctors best efforts in managing patients with serious lack of resources they are being made the scapegoat of the failure of the administration in providing quality health care.

Central MARD had probed into the incident of multiple mortality that occurred at the hospital and said that it was clearly apparent that the reasons for the unfortunate event was primarily due to multifactorial causes which include shortage of medical faculty, shortage of class 3 and class 4 staff, medical servants, overall manpower, life saving medicines and resources.

"Central MARD strongly condemns the incident and requests the state government to take responsibility for the shortage of the life saving drugs, resources and man power in all the medical colleges across the state, instead of making doctors a scapegoat of their failure," said the official statement of Central MARD.
