NABH to establish ‘NABH Chair of Quality’ at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. It aims to prepare quality-driven future healthcare professionals.
NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals and Healthcare Providers) has joined hands with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University to establish the NABH Chair of Quality to cultivate a generation of healthcare professionals armed with an innate understanding of quality and a strong grasp of NABH Accreditation & Certification standards.
The MOU signing ceremony unfolded on World Patient Safety Day amidst the illustrious backdrop of the NABH Patient Safety Conference (NPSC'23) in New Delhi. The event brought together luminaries, healthcare experts, and over 500 healthcare providers from diverse sectors, including the National Health Authority (NHA), the Ministry of AYUSH, the Ministry of Social Justice, and top government and private hospitals.
Jaxay Shah, Chairperson, QCI, lauded the collaboration, stating, "This marks a significant moment for healthcare education in India. By integrating NABH standards into academic programs, we are equipping future healthcare leaders to champion quality excellence and prioritize patient safety."
Dr. R. P. Singh, Secretary General, QCI, added, "Quality is the cornerstone of healthcare, and this partnership signifies our strong commitment to nurturing future healthcare practitioners who embody a commitment to quality at every level."
Prof. (Dr.) Mahesh Verma, Chairperson, NABH, emphasized the long-term vision, saying, "Our aim is to shape the trajectory of healthcare in India. Through this MOU, we aspire to create a cadre of professionals who are impassioned advocates for raising the bar in healthcare quality and well-versed in NABH standards for hospitals and healthcare providers.”
Dr. Atul Mohan Kochhar, CEO, NABH, highlighted the practical implications of the partnership, stating, "When these students enter the healthcare workforce, they will possess the knowledge and skills needed to ensure top-tier patient care. The objective is to ensure that future doctors drive quality healthcare and engage with patients more efficiently."
This strategic alliance is to infuse the principles of quality and patient safety directly into the curriculum of Healthcare Management courses at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University.
