NEET 2024 Re-exam Result: Total Number of Toppers Reduced to 61
The NEET 2024 re-examination result on July 1, 2024. According to NTA, five out of six toppers who received grace marks had appeared for the retest. None of them could score 720 and the one who did not appear for the exam had his grace marks withdrawn, which leaves the total number of NEET 2024 toppers to be 61, instead of 67.
The NEET 2024 re-examination result on July 1, 2024, at the early hours of Monday. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the revised scorecard for all candidates, including those 1,563, who were awarded grace marks on the May 5, 2024, test owing to loss of time at the centre. However, NTA has not released the revised merit list.
According to media reports, five out of six NEET 2024 toppers with 720 marks appeared for the NEET 2024 re-exam held on June 23, 2024. None of these candidates could score 720 marks, and since the remaining candidate’s grace marks have been removed, the total number of NEET 2024 toppers have reduced from 67 to 61.
NTA sources have stated that all the five candidates have scored above 680. Since the revised merit list is not released, candidates’ exact marks or ranks cannot be provided here. However, the overall ranks of candidates have not been impacted much due to this.
NEET 2024 Re-examination Statistics
Out of the 1,563 candidates eligible to write the NEET 2024 re-examination, only 813 candidates appeared, accounting for 52 per cent. The rest of the 48 per cent candidates decided to skip the test. The exam was held in five states and union territories, six cities and seven exam centres.
Gujarat centre had only one candidate slated to appear and reported 100 per cent attendance. On the other hand, the Chandigarh centre was supposed to have two candidates appearing for the NEET 2024 retest, but none of them turned up.
There were two NEET 2024 re-exam centres in Chhattisgarh’s Balod and Dantewada regions, which combined had the second-highest number of test takers (602) and turnout (62.16 per cent and 57.05 per cent respectively).
This was followed by Haryana and Meghalaya, with over 50 per cent attendance in all three centres located in these two states. As many as 750 candidates skipped the test.
