NEET PG 2023 postponement: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) delegation has met the Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya to demand the postponement of NEET PG 2023 and also to revisit the internship completion deadline.

As per the official release of the ABVP, the delegation has submitted a memorandum to the union health minister demanding to increase the internship eligibility related to NEET-PG 2023 from 30 June 2023 to 31 July 2023 and reducing the gap in exam date and counselling. The delegation has demanded an immediate resolution to these issues.

"ABVP has discussed with the union health minister about the extension of the deadline for the internship for the NEET-PG 2023 exam to July 31, 2023, reconsidering the proposed NEET-PG exam in March 2023, considering the problems related to the internship qualification of students of all states and demands have been made to re-open the application portal for NEET-PG 2023, etc," reads the ABVP notification.

"During the discussion with the ABVP delegation, the Union Health Minister while accepting the state-wise data regarding the date of completion of the internship, also sought an updated report from the authorities regarding the number of students affected. Along with this, the officers have been directed to take further action in this context," added the statement.

Dr. Abhinandan Bokaria, National Convener of Medivision said, "Medical students are facing many problems in the context of NEET PG, they need to be heard. Not being able to apply for NEET-PG, all these problems should be resolved soon."

ABVP National Minister Virendra Solanki said, "In connection with the conduct of the NEET-PG examination for medical students, an extension of the last date for completion of the internship, the opening of the application portal and a maximum gap of one or two months between examination and counselling etc. ABVP has placed the demands before the Union Health Minister. ABVP demands that not a single student should be debarred from the NEET-PG exam due to technical reasons and a decision should be taken in favour of medical students at the earliest after seriously considering the issues of the students."
