NEET PG 2023: FORDA welcomes govt decision to reduce cut-off percentile to zero

FORDA India has welcomed the government's decision to reduce the NEET PG 2023 cut-off percentile to zero.

"Every year 10 to 12 thousand seats remain vacant in PG. To fill that gap, achieving zero percentile in the last round is a positive effort. For him, linking the reduction of percentile with this is a baseless thing. We should welcome the step taken by the government accepting the demand of the students and not politics," reads FORDA's tweet.

On September 20, 2023, MCC's notice stated, "The qualifying percentile for PG courses (Medical) for NEET PG Counselling 2023 has been reduced to 'Zero' across all categories by MoHFW."

There were mixed reactions of the medical fraternity to this decision, while some welcomed the move to prevent vacant seats, others criticised the government for lowering the standard of medical education in the country.

Registration and choice filling for round 3 counselling started on September 22. The last date for registration and choice filling for NEET PG 3rd round counselling 2023 is today, September 25, 2023. MCC will release the seat allotment result of round 3 on September 28, 2023. NEET PG counselling results will be released online based on the choice of college and course declared by candidates.

"We are shocked to see such notice released by Ministry of Health regarding NEET PG Cut off. It is ridiculous to see zero percentile candidates are eligible for getting a Postgraduate Seat. This is mockery of the standard of Medical Education & healthcare system," tweeted FAIMA on September 20, 2023.
