NEET PG 2024 Counselling Delayed: Students Request MCC to Release Schedule; Left with Stress, Anxiety
NEET PG counselling schedule 2024 is expected soon by MCC at the official website mcc.nic.in for admission to MD/ MS programmes at 50% of the All India Quota seats based on National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate exam scores.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has delayed the NEET PG counselling schedule 2024. The authorities started the NEET PG 2024 counselling registration on September 20, 2024, but no information regarding the further schedule has been notified yet. The NEET PG 2024 counselling delay has caused anxiety and stress among students.
The medicos are questioning MCC why almost 2 months after the release of the NEET PG 2024 result, the counselling schedule is not yet released. Besides, several students are blaming the exam conducting body i.e. National Board of Examination (NBE) for recklessly conducting the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate in session 2024. Meanwhile, students are also questioning NBE for the implementation of normalisation of NEET PG 2024 scores and examining two shifts. It must be noted that the NEET PG exam pre-COVID used to be conducted in January and the session used to begin in the month of April-May.
NEET PG 2024 Counselling: UDFA Writes to MoHFW
The United Doctors Front Association (UDFA) has written a letter to Hon’ble Health Minister JP Nadda urging intervention in the NEET PG 2024 counselling process and how this delay is causing undue stress and uncertainty for over 2 lakh aspirants. The authorities have also notified that NEET PG counselling 2024 registration has been started, but the committee has not been informed about the seat matrix, brochure and registration last day; keeping students stressed and anxious.
NEET PG Supreme Court Hearing Expected on October 25
The Supreme Court is expected to hear NEET PG 2024-related petitions on October 25, 2024. The hearing will be concerning last-minute changes in the examination pattern and other irregularities in the NEET PG exam.
NEET PG Counselling 2024: Major Problems Due to Delay
The NEET PG counselling schedule for 2024 has been delayed. The following are the main problems that need consideration:
1. The post-COVID NEET PG batch has already been delayed for over 6 months. With a further delay in the admission process in 2024, there will be more delay in the admission process.
2. The resident doctors, after completing their PG will leave the existing hospitals and medical colleges. With a delay in the admission process, new doctors will not be able to join in hospitals on time.
3. Doctors from the current session will get their degrees about 8-10 months late; causing a delay in rendering their services.
Q: When will MCC conduct NEET PG 2024 counselling?
MCC announce dates and schedule for NEET PG 2024 counselling. Registration for NEET PG 2024 counselling round-2 will begin on December 4, 2024. The last date for round-2 registration is December 9, 2024. Round-2 final seat allotment result was announced on December 13, 2024 following the provisional result. Candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling. Registration can be done on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Registered candidates also have to declare choice for college and course for seat allotment. Choices have to be locked in the given deadline. Seats are allotted based on declared choices, availablity of seats, NEET PG rank, reservation factor etc. A separate seat allotment result is declared for each round.
Q: Who will be eligible for NEET PG 2024 counselling rounds?
Candidates who qualify NEET PG exam with minimum cutoff marks as decided by NBE will be eligible to participate in the counselling. The qualifying cut off varies as per the category. To participate in NEET PG 2024 counselling, candidates will have to register on the official website, mcc. Nic. In. They also have to fill choice for college and course and lock them in the given deadline. Seat allotment is done based on different factors such as choice declared, availability of seats in particular college and course, NEET PG rank etc.
Q: What is the last date to declare choices for NEET PG 2024 counselling round-2?
December 9 was the deadline to declare preferences of choice for NEET PG 2024 round-2. Candidates have to login with registration ID and password to declare choices. It must be noted choice could be modified (edit/add/delete) any number of times till the deadline. Choices for NEET PG counselling must have to be saved and locked otherwise it gets automatically locked after the last date. Seat allotment result for NEET PG counselling round-2 will be declared on December 12, 2024.
