NEET PG 2024 Counselling Process to Begin on November 11, Says FORDA
MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 is likely to begin on November 11, 2024, for admission to 50% MD, MS All India Quota seats at medical colleges across India.
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is likely to begin the NEET PG 2024 counselling process on November 11, 2024, as per the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA). The association has shared the information on the social media platform 'X', formerly Twitter highlighting the commencement of NEET PG counselling start date 2024. Students who have qualified the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate) are waiting for the complete schedule as the MCC NEET PG counselling dates 2024 are long awaited. However, MCC is yet to release the official notification concerning the NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule.
“NEET PG 2024 counselling to begin latest by 11th of November. The 4-month delay makes the timeline for #2025 challenging. The vicious cycle continues for the 3rd year straight. Will this ever end?,” FORDA said in a post on X.
Meanwhile, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) president Survankar Datta shared on X that the authorities will not wait for the next Supreme Court hearing before releasing the NEET PG counselling schedule 2024. He stated “NEET PG Counselling schedule will be put up soon, and recent issues preventing the release of the schedule have been resolved. They are not waiting for the next Supreme Court hearing on NEET PG. Kindly stay tuned for official announcements from their official website for the exact timeline and avoid speculations/hearsay.”
NEET PG 2024 SC Hearing on November 19
As per the latest trend of events, the Supreme Court is likely to resume hearing on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2024 case on November 19. The NEET PG Supreme Court hearing 2024 will be headed by CJI Chandrachud and justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra.
NBE to Help States for Merit List Preparation
In another update, the National Medical Commission (NMC), the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) along with other state counselling authorities have decided that NBEMS will help states in preparation of a merit list. However, as per media reports, Haryana and Goa will prepare their own NEET PG rank lists.

Q: When will MCC conduct NEET PG 2024 counselling?
MCC announced dates and schedule for NEET PG 2024 counselling. Registration for NEET PG 2024 counselling round-3 began on December 26, 2024. The last date for round-3 registration was January 1, 2025. Round-3 seat allotment result will be announced soon. Candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling. Registration can be done on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Registered candidates also have to declare choice for college and course for seat allotment. Choices have to be locked in the given deadline. Seats are allotted based on declared choices, availablity of seats, NEET PG rank, reservation factor etc. A separate seat allotment result is declared for each round.

Candidates who qualify NEET PG exam with minimum cutoff marks as decided by NBE will be eligible to participate in the counselling. The qualifying cut off varies as per the category. They also have to fill choice for college and course and lock them in the given deadline. Seat allotment is done based on different factors such as choice declared, availability of seats in particular college and course, NEET PG rank etc.

January 1 was the deadline to declare preferences of choice for NEET PG 2024 round-3. Candidates have to login with registration ID and password to declare choices. It must be noted choice could be modified (edit/add/delete) any number of times till the deadline. Choices for NEET PG counselling must have to be saved and locked otherwise it gets automatically locked after the last date. Seat allotment result for NEET PG counselling round-3 will be declared on January 4, 2025.
