Q1: Congratulations on emerging as a NEET PG 2024 topper! How are you feeling about your results?
Himanshu Vashishta: I am feeling great and highly blessed to be able to achieve this all credit goes to my family and friends who supported me throughout the journey of NEET PG preparation.
Q2: Tell us something about yourself and your studies.
Himanshu Vashishta: I am a student of the 2017 batch and did my UG from Pgims Rohtak, Haryana. I belong to a family of teachers, my mother and grandfather both are teachers and have served students for so long. All of their roots kept me motivated towards my preparation and strategy to crack the NEET PG 2024 exam.
Q3: What motivated you to pursue medicine as a career?
Himanshu Vashishta: Medicine is something which always attracted me from my school days also I have gone through a lot of personal and family experiences which made me realise the importance of this field and how it can help the needy & eventually can impact their lives in a positively beautiful manner.
Q4: Which Medical College are you willing to take admission to based on the NEET PG result?
Himanshu Vashishta: According to past trends I am hoping to get a good college in Delhi.
Q5: How and when did you start preparing for NEET PG exam?
Himanshu Vashishta: I was an average student throughout my MBBS but I was consistent with my studies after 3rd year. For NEET PG, I started my preparations during my internship but started preparing more seriously after my internship was completed.
Q6: Which study material would you recommend for preparation for the NEET PG exam?
Himanshu Vashishta: Frankly speaking every study material is equally good, every teacher is highly experienced all you need to find out with whom you understand the best. Just select any source you believe in and keep revising it again & again with simultaneously MCQ practice & test practice is the key to qualifying for the NEET PG exam.
Q7: What exam preparation tips would you like to give to NEET PG aspirants?
Himanshu Vashishta: The NEET PG exam is not just an exam for knowledge, it tests your temperament, patience, MCQ-solving skills, & most importantly pressure handling mindset especially during the exam. So just keep believing in yourself, and try to maintain a cool head during preparation, & stick to your basics. Don't follow too many resources multiple revisions with a single source and MCQ solving practice will help to qualify NEET PG exam.
Q: Β What is the pattern of NEET PG exam?
NEET PG pattern comprises details about exam mode, medium, total number of questions, allotted time, and marking scheme. NBE conducts NEET PG exam in computer-based mode. The medium of the exam is English only. Candidates don't have option to select any other language in NEET PG exam.
A total of 200 multiple choice questions are asked and candidates get 3.5 hours to answer them. According to the marking scheme, for every right answer, 4 marks are awarded while for wrong response -1 mark is deducted. No mark will be awarded/deduced for unanswered question.
Q: Β What is NEET PG exam analysis all about?
NEET PG exam analysis is a comprehensive review of the examination, providing insights into the difficulty level of questions, the weightage of various subjects, and the overall structure of the exam. The analysis helps aspirants understand the exam pattern, the types of questions asked, and the areas they need to focus on to score well. In the case of NEET PG 2023, the exam analysis indicates that the paper was relatively easy compared to the previous year, with a higher proportion of clinical questions from medicine and microbiology.
Q: Β Has NEET PG 2025 pattern released by NBE?
No. NEET PG 2025 pattern has not been released yet. The pattern and other crucial details related to NEET PG 2025 exam is released along with the official information brochure. NEET PG 2025 is expected to be held in June. NBE, the exam conducting body will release information brochure containing NEET PG 2025 pattern. The exam pattern carries crucial details such as mode and medium, total of questions, allotted time, and marking scheme. Candidates will have to register online to submit application form for NEET PG 2025.
Q8: What challenges did you face while preparing for the NEET PG 2024, and how did you overcome them?
Himanshu Vashishta: The most difficult challenge I felt was to deal with all the postponement & preponment which happened in this exam. It was very mentally exhausting, but with the help of my family and friends, I kept on pushing towards my goal and self-belief is something which kept me motivated to prepare for NEET PG.
