Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced 5 significant changes related to NEET PG Counselling 2021 including four rounds of AIQ Counselling.

NEET PG Students

After much delay and final order by Supreme Court in the OBC and EWS reservation case, NEET PG Counselling 2021 is all set to begin from January 12. However, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has notified that the following changes/modifications in the counselling scheme will be implemented from the academic year 2021-22:

  1. MCC will conduct four rounds of counselling from this academic year including AIQ Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round, Stray Vacancy Round. No seat will be reverted back to the respective states after completing round 2 of AIQ.
  2. Unfilled NRI/Muslim Minority/Jain Minority seats to be converted to Indian National seats after exhaustion of all the eligible NRI/Muslim Minority/Jain Minority Candidates during the Mop-Up Round before reverting it back to the respective Deemed University.
  3. Reservation Policy of AIQ for Central Institutes/University as well as State contributed seats:
  • S.C.- 15%
  •         S.T.- 7.5%
  •        O.B.C.- (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list- 27%
  •        EWS- as per Central Government norms10%
  •       PwD- Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms- 5%

    4. Counselling for PG DNB seats to be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW.

    5. Online Stray vacancy Round to be conducted by MCC of DGHS, MoHFW for Central University/Institutes/All India Quota/DNB seats.

On January 7, after two days of hearing in the EWS and OBC case, Supreme Court had upheld the reservations as announced by the Centre on July 29. The NEET PG Counselling 2021 has been delayed unprecedently due to this case and other reasons.
