NEET PG Counselling 2021: MCC releases notice regarding resignation for Round 1

MCC has released a notice for NEET PG Counselling 2021 candidates regarding the resignation of Round 1.

After getting multiple queries on the resignation of seat allotted in the NEET PG Counselling 2021 Round 1, Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has responded to the candidates through a notice released on the official website of MCC mcc.nic.in.

MCC has said in its notification that candidates who join their seat of Round 1 and later want to resign the same can do so till February 3, up to 4:00 pm and after which they will be considered as part of Round 2 and the same rules will apply on them as applicable for Round 2 of counselling.

As per the notification, the candidates are advised to ensure that their resignation letter is generated online by the allotted colleges, if not the resignation will be considered as ‘Null & Void’ and the candidate will be deemed to be occupying the seat still and rules of Round-2 will apply. The candidates must note that any other letter than the resignation letter generated through an online portal will not be considered as the resignation letter.

The notice further added, "In case, the candidate gives consent for up-gradation in Round 2 but is not upgraded, he/she cannot resign the seat allotted in Round 2 and will have to retain the seat. In such a case rules of Round, 2 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round 2. There is no option of resignation if the candidate is not upgraded in Round 2. Hence, candidates who desire to resign their seat of Round 1 should do so before Round 2 i.e. by February 3, till 4:00 pm."
