NEET PG Counselling 2022: Highlighting that as many as 1311 PG seats are vacant, P Wilson, Rajya Sabha MP, has urged the union health ministry to intervene, so that these seats can be prevented from getting vacant.

"About 1311 PG seats remains unfilled in various medical colleges located throughout India for academic year 2022-2023 and are lying vacant. I gave a letter today to @OfficeOf_MM and I had requested Hon’ble @mansukhmandviya to intervene as national assets are going waste!," tweeted the Minister.

His letter reads, "I am writing to bring your kind attention that I have received numerous complaints that for the Academic Year 2022-2023, about 1311 of PG valuable seats have been left vacant even after completion of Special Stray Vacancies (MD/MS/DNB) round of NEET PG."

"The DGHS requires to be revamped completely as every counselling period there are lot of confusions and delay in approaching the Hon'ble Supreme Court for extension of time in counselling/stray vacancies etc adn the students are put to untold hardships," added the letter.

The minister also highlighted that the country has a dearth of well-qualified medical personnel which is why the country is unable to provide for the needs of our increasing population. Hence, it needs to be ensured that the medical institutions are running at full capacity in educating and training doctors to provide them with a requisite platform to excel in their field as their excellence is for the national interest.

While the minister is requesting to fill the vacant seats of NEET PG Counselling 2022, NEET PG 2023 aspirants are demanding to postpone NEET PG 2023 exam by 6 to 8 weeks.
