NEET 2023 Exam Date Announcement Student Reactions

NEET 2023 exam date was announced by NTA on December 15. The exam will be conducted on May 7. NTA released a common calendar which consisted of the exam dates of JEE Main, CUET and ICAR AIEEA 2023 to avoid clashes with other exams and to help students prepare well for the exam. However, the news did not go well with some of the students. Especially those who took NEET last year and are planning to reappear for NEET 2023. They have demanded that NEET 2023 be postponed by two to three months. They took to Twitter and expressed their discontent.

On the other hand, some of the students have requested for NEET UG 2023 postpone stating their angst as less than six months are left for the exam. While some of the NEET 2023 aspirants have requested higher authorities to postpone the exam date, others do not have hope for the authorities to postpone the exam and prefer to prepare for the exam. Postpone NEET 2023 has been trending on Twitter since the announcement of the exam date.

While the student demand to postpone NEET UG 2023 calmed down with the onset of the application process followed by application correction and the reopening of the application process, the students' urges rose again after two weeks prior to the exam. They have started Twitter campaigns addressing the Prime Minister and Education Minister requesting to postpone the NEET 2023 exam date

But there has not been any positive or promising response from the authorities or the Ministry yet. Here we bring to you some of those tweets and student reactions on the NEET 2023 exam date.

Students Demand Postponement of NEET 2023 Exam Date

The Board exams of various states have recently concluded and students got approximately 10 months between NEET 2022 and NEET 2023 which left them with less than a year to prepare. Take a look at some of the Tweets of students and NEET aspirants.

Some students have requested the authorities to postpone the exam to June.

More than the first-time takers, it is the droppers who want the NEET 2023 exam date to be postponed.

One student has blamed the media reports, which had stated the tentative dates to be in June.

A stakeholder from Karnataka has stated that the State Board exam will end by March-end, which will be followed by elections. Hence, the request for NEET 2023 to be held on a later date.

Students Take a Funny Path to React on NEET 2023 Exam Date Announcement

Not every student is unhappy with the announcement of the NEET 2023 date. Some have taken it positively and started preparing in a full-fledged manner.

Some students have appealed to other students to not create a hue and cry over the dates and rather focus on the preparation.

However, some students and stakeholders have urged the NEET takers to focus on preparation rather than participating in the online campaigns.

It is likely that the NEET 2023 admit card will be released by the first week of May. NTA has been endeavouring to normalise the medical admission calendar, similar to the pre-pandemic era. Hence, it is unlikely that NTA would postpone NEET UG 2023 exam date. As of February first week, neither NTA  released the NEET 2023 notification, nor has it responded to the postpone NEET 2023 request. In fact, through an RTI response, NTA has announced that the exam will be conducted only once a year, and for the academic year 2023-24, it is scheduled for May 7. This page will be updated as and when there is a latest update.
