Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) has announced to resume the strike and 'withdrawal of all services' by resident doctors from December 17 onwards.

The repeated delay in National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET-PG) Counselling 2021 has badly hit the services at various Government Medical Colleges (GMC) across the nation. The resident doctors have been protesting to expedite the admission process since November end, this year.

Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) had initiated the protest on November 27. For the last one week, the Association had put the strike on hold considering MoHFW plea for expediting NEET PG Counselling 2021 and also due to national security situation after the sudden demise of Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat & other army personnel.

Now, after patiently waiting for one week, FORDA has announced to withdraw all services by resident doctors from December 17 onwards. FORDA INDIA tweet reads, "Letter of Intimation to Hon’ble @mansukhmandviya Sir regarding “Withdrawal from all Services” by #ResidentDoctors in healthcare institutions, 17/12/2021 onwards."

FORDA INDIA's official statement says, "With the threat of 3rd wave of COVID-19 Pandemic looming large, the best the authorities could have done, was to expedite the Counselling & subsequent Admission process - instead, there is inaction & lack of urgency in the matter. Hence, as informed earlier, Resident Doctors are left with no choice but to go for "Withdrawal from all Services" (Routine as well as Emergency) in healthcare institutions, 17th December, 2021 onwards. The onus of this unfortunate situation affecting healthcare services is on the concerned authorities."

"We would hereby once again urge you to take necessary measures for fast-tracking court hearing & for expediting NEET-PG 2021 Counselling & Admission process for rejuvenating the healthcare sector with adequate workforce, in best interest of the nation's population," added the official statement.
