Private Schools Association, NPSC, has urged the Central Board of Secondary Education to reduce CBSE term 1 exam weightage criteria. Ever since the CBSE result for class 10, 12 terms 1 exam has been declared, many private schools have been urging the CBSE to reduce the weightage of the term 1 exam for the 2021-22 session. Schools have been alleging that many schools have adopted "unfair means and malpractices" while marking students for the term 1 exam.
In a letter, National Progressive Schools' Conference (NPSC) suggested to CBSE that the board should reduce term 1 exam weightage in the range of 20 per cent to 30 per cent while the board should increase term 2 exam weightage up to 70-80 per cent.

The letter read "It was observed that during the Term I examinations, which were conducted at the home centres, many schools adopted unfair means and malpractices. Consequently, many students of these schools scored full marks in most of the subjects. We are sure that CBSE must also have received similar feedback on this issue."
NPSC an association of senior secondary schools that has 195 schools under its umbrella. NPSC has argued that the performance of students of the schools where the "exams were conducted with complete honesty and integrity has not been at par with the afore mentioned" which has adversely affected the morale of all the stakeholders.
