A 59-year-old Abbi is an alumni of Miranda House College. Frome where she has done her graduation in English Literature.Later she pursued her legal education from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University, and was a gold medalist both in LLB and LLM.

Rajni Abbi, former Delhi mayor from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been appointed as Delhi University proctor. The DU Executive Council (EC), the university’s highest decision-making body, convened a meeting today during which it announced a new team.

The Delhi University Executive Council meeting was conducted after several DU officials tendered their resignations, including senior Delhi University officials, pro-vice-chancellor PC Joshi, Proctor Neeta Sehgal and Dean of Students Welfare Rajeev Gupta on December 16.

A 59-year-old Abbi is an alumni of Miranda House College. Frome where she has done her graduation in English Literature.Later she pursued her legal education from the Faculty of Law, Delhi University, and was a gold medalist both in LLB and LLM. She did her PhD in Law from DU and also was a professor at the University of Delhi.

"These posts are co-terminus, they last till the tenure of the vice-chancellor who made those appointments. With Professor Yogesh Singh joining as the vice-chancellor on October 8, they were supposed to resign but were asked to continue till the new appointments were made," said an official, requesting anonymity, as reported by a media house.

On October 8, 2021, Yogesh Singh took charge as the 23rd Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University. Singh succeeds Yogesh Tyagi, who was suspended last October over allegations of irregularities and dereliction of duty.

Meanwhile, Delhi University has announced that the admission process for all the Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses will end on December 31. DU Application process 2021 began on August 2, 2021, and the first DU Cut off 2021 was on October 1, 2021. Students can go to the official website of DU; i.e. du.ac.in to apply.
