AFCAT 2 cut-off is expected to be around 156-160. The cut off is calculated based on the following factors:

• Number of Test-Takers
• Number of Vacancies
• Difficulty Level of Exam
• Category
• Candidate’s performance

The overall difficulty level of AFCAT 2 2023 shift 1 exam was moderate. The General Awareness section was moderate whereas Verbal Ability in English was easy to moderate. The Numerical Ability section was moderate. The Military Reasoning and Aptitude Tests section was moderate.

Students for shift 2 exam have started coming to the exam centre. The entry for Shift 2 exam will begin at 12.30 pm.

One mark is deducted for every wrong answer. Candidates are not awarded any marks for unattempted questions.

The pay scale of candidates joining through the AFCAT exam is INR 56,100. On successful completion of the training, the AFCAT salary of candidates in the pay matrix of Commissioned Officers will be fixed in the first cell of Level 10.

The section-wise difficulty of AFCAT 2 exam held in 2022 is given below.

AFCAT exam is conducted for two hours. There is no sectional time limit in the AFCAT exam. The candidates are allowed to leave the examination hall after the completion of the exam. AFCAT exam is conducted in two shifts. Shift 1 exam is conducted from 9.45 am to 11.45 am whereas Shift 2 is held from 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm.

AFCAT 2 2023 exam is being conducted in the following cities.

The reporting time for Shift 1 exam is 7.30 am. Students for shift 1 have started coming to the exam centre. Verification of admit card & ID Proof, Biometrics, Photo/ Thumb Impression/ Sign on Attendance Sheet & candidate seating in the exam hall is being conducted till 9.30 am.

AFCAT exam comprises sections such as General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning, and Aptitude test. Out of the 100 questions, Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test carries 35 questions, Verbal ability in English carries 30 questions, Numerical Ability carries 15 questions, General Awareness carries 20 questions. The Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test section carries a total of 105 marks, Verbal ability in English carries a total of 90 marks, Numerical ability section carries a total of 45 marks, General Awareness section carries a total of 60 marks. 

Candidates need to score between 140 to 190 marks out of 300 in AFCAT 2 exam.

Candidate’s colour photograph will be taken during verification process. Candidates are required to put the thumb impression on the admit card in advance (at home) before proceeding to the examination centre and to sign on the same in front of the invigilators.

Candidates must make own arrangements for conveyance. No TA/ DA or allowance will be paid for appearing in the test.

The guidelines related to the dress code for AFCAT exam are given below:

• Candidates need to wear slippers/sandals with flat heels
• Closed footwear such as shoes is not allowed in the exam centre
• Clothes with large buttons are not permitted.
• Candidates wearing attire for religious purpose will be thoroughly frisked

The following items are not allowed inside the exam hall:

• Blue tooth device, communication/ electronic/ digital/ wireless devices such as calculators, docupen, electronic watches with facilities of calculator, cellular phone, memory card/ stick, pager, organizer, personal digital assistant(PDA), concealed microphone or camera, earphones, radio, headset, walkman, recorder, translator, etc
• Pencil-box, book, geometry box, paper, log tables, clip board, slide rule, etc.
• Personal items such as wristwatch/wristband, bracelets, handbags, ornaments, wallet, purse, head gear, scarf, goggles, jacket, eatables items, etc.

Candidates should bring ballpoint pen (blue or black) for signing on the attendance sheet and rough work.

Candidates are required to carry two passport-size colour photographs to the exam centre. Candidates without photographs are not allowed to appear for the exam.

Candidates must reach AFCAT exam centre as per the reporting time for frisking, verification process, biometrics, identification and inspection of admit card, ID proof, photograph, signature, etc.

Candidates are required to put only the thumb impression on the admit card in advance, before proceeding to the exam centre. Signatures on the admit card are to be endorsed in front of the invigilator.

The Shift 1 exam will be conducted from 2.15 pm to 4.15 pm. The time for reading instructions is 2 pm to 2.15 pm.

The exam time for shift 1 is 9.45 am to 11.45 am. The time given to read the instructions is 9.30 am to 9.45 am.

The reporting time for the first shift is 7.30 am onwards whereas it is 12.30 pm onwards for the second shift. Candidates must reach the exam centre early to avoid any hassle.

Candidates need to carry following photo-identity proofs along with the admit card:

• PAN card
• Passport
• Driving License
• Voter Identity Card
• College Identity Card (or any other valid photo identity proof that mentions - name, father’s name, date of birth, and a clear photograph)

Candidates are required to take the colour printout of the admit card. They should take the back-to-back printout of the admit card.

• The admit card appears on the screen
• Download the admit card and take its printout
