Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the NDA 1 written results on May 1, 2023. Check the live status of the National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) written results in the live blog.
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the NDA 1 result 2023 for the written exam on May 1, 2023. Along with the result of the NDA 1, the Naval Academy (NA) written result has also been released. Last year, NDA 1 result was declared on May 9, 2022. The exam was conducted on April 10, 2022. The result was declared within a month after the exam was conducted. NDA 1 result is published roll number-wise and name-wise. NDA result 2023 will be published in PDF form and it will comprise the roll numbers of qualified candidates. NDA result name-wise is published within few days after the roll number-wise result is published.
Candidates who will qualify for the written exam of NDA 1 2023, will be called for SSB Interview. The shortlisted candidates are required to register on the official websites of the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force as per their post preferences inorder to select the date, time, and venue for SSB interview as well as generate the call-up letter. GAT: The GAT syllabus of NDA is divided into two parts. Part A comprises questions from English, while Part B carries questions from General Knowledge. Know NDA Eligibility Criteria
NDA eligibility criteria is given below:
For NDA 1 exam, both male and female candidates must have been born not earlier than July 2, 2004, and not later than July 1, 2007. For NDA 2 exam, both male and female candidates must have been born not earlier than January 2, 2004, and not later than January 1, 2007.
For Army Wing of National Defence Academy, candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC or equivalent from a recognised board or university
For Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy of National Defence Academy, candidates must have passed Class 12/HSC with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics

What are the passing marks in NDA?
Candidates are required to score a minimum of around 25 per cent marks in each subject to clear the NDA written exam. The total marks allotted to the written exam are 900. Besides the subject-wise cut off marks, the examination authority also decides overall cut off marks for different defence services. Candidates are required to secure both section-wise and overall cut off marks. To be in the final merit list, candidates are required to secure separate qualifying marks in the written exam and SSB interview.

What is NDA marking scheme?
NDA marking scheme is prescribed by UPSC. The marking scheme highlights the marks awarded for correct answers and marks deducted for wrong answers. In Maths 2.5 marks are awarded for correct answers and 0.83 marks are deducted for wrong answers. In GAT four marks are awarded for correct answers and 1.33 marks are deducted for the wrong answers. The score of the written exam is calculated out of 900 marks. The examination authority calculates the scores of candidates based on the marking scheme.

GAT paper of NDA comprises a total of 150 questions. The GAT section is divided into two parts. Part A comprises English while Part B consists of General Knowledge. The number of questions in the Maths section of NDA exam is 120. - A single combined merit list is prepared based on the total marks secured by candidates in the written exam and SSB Interview
- The final allocation/selection for admission to the Army, Navy, Air Force of the National Defence Academy and 10 2 Cadet Entry Scheme of Indian Naval Academy is done as per the number of vacancies subjected to candidates' eligibility, medical fitness and merit-cum-preference

What after the declaration of NDA 1 results?
Qualified candidates for the written exam are required to appear in the SSB Interview. The exam is a two-stage process based on Psychological Aptitude Test and Intelligence Test. All selected candidates are required to appear first in Stage 1. Only those candidates who qualify the Stage 1 are selected for Stage 2. Candidates who qualify for Stage 2 are required to submit the original certificates along with one photocopy of each original Class 10 pass certificate and Original 10 2 pass certificate.
