SSC JE Vacancies 2024: The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the final vacancies list for the SSC JE 2024 examination. Candidates can check the SSC JE vacancies 2024 notice for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical) on the official website at ssc.gov.in.

According to the final SSC JE vacancies list, a total of 1,701 posts will be filled, including 322 and 165 for the SC and ST category respectively, 480 for OBC, 171 for EWS, and 563 for the Unreserved category.

The Commission has opened the window for candidates to submit their option-cum-preference for SSC JE 2024. Those who appeared for Paper II must submit their preferences for posts through the "My Application" tab on the website via their login. The last date to submit the same is December 13, 2024.

Q: Β  What is the duration of SSC JE Paper 2 exam?

A:

The SSC JE Paper 2 exam is conducted for 2 hours, However, for the scribe candidates it is conducted for 2 hours and 40 minutes. The paper 2 is conducted for 200 marks. The complete pattern of the exam has been given below:

  • Paper 2 is a descriptive paper conducted in computer based mode
  • Candidates have to attempt a question paper of 300 marks in 2 hours
  • Paper 2 is a conventional type exam, candidates have to choose the subject from Part A- Civil & Structural Engineering, Part B- Electrical Engineering or Part C- Mechanical Engineering
  • Candidates are allowed to bring their own Slide–Rule, Calculator, Logarithm Table and Steam Table for Paper-2
  • There is no negative marking applicable in Paper-2

Q: Β  In how many shifts SSC JE exam is conducted?

A:
The SSC JE Paper 1 is conducted in three shifts on a single exam day. The SSC JE Shift 1 is conducted from 9:00 to 11:00 am, the Shift 2 is from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm and Shift 3 is from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The exact shift timing is mentioned on the SSC JE admit cards of candidates.

Q: Β  How many times SSC JE recruitment is done in a year?

A:

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) generally recruits for SSC JE once in a year. The recruitment process begins with the release of the notification that comprises the details of the SSC JE exam like number of vacancies, application dates, application fees, eligibility, etc. Along with the notification for the SSC JE exam, the application window for the exami is activated for the candidates to apply. Further the application correction window is activated for the candidates who want to edit their application form. 

After the application process ends for the SSC JE exam, the admit card is released and the exam is conducted on a specifica date decided by the Commission. Later to these stages the SSC JE exam is conducted for Paper 1 and Paper 2. At the last stage pf the SSC JE exam, the final result and the cut off is released. The candidates qualifying for the paper 1 and paper 2 goes for the document verification round. After the clearance at dV round, the candidates are appointed as the SSC JE.
