UGC NET 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will soon be releasing the notification for UGC NET December session 2024. Last year, the UGC NET notification for the December cycle was released on September 30, 2023. However, this time, the UGC NET June session result was declared on October 17, 2024. Pre Requisites for UGC NET 2024 December Registration
Candidates must have the below-mentioned items ready when applying for UGC NET December session:
- ID Card
- Copy of Board/ University Certificate for Name, Mother's Name, Father's Name, etc.
- Degree Certificate
- Scanned photograph and signature
- Category, PwD certificate (if applicable)
Candidates who qualify for the UGC NET, either for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professorship can pursue a career as a research scholar or an assistant professor:
- Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): Candidates who qualify for the JRF can choose to work as both research scholars and assistant professors. Research scholars receive a stipend of INR 35,000 per month for the first two years, which increases to INR 42,000 per month from the third year onward. In addition to pursuing research, JRF-qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for assistant professor positions at various universities.
- Assistant Professorship: Candidates who qualify for the Assistant Professorship eligibility exam can apply for teaching positions at universities or colleges. While they can also pursue a PhD, they will not be eligible for any government stipend to support their doctoral studies.
