UPSC Recruitment Notification 2025: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official notification of the Civil Services Prelims Exam today: January 22, 2025. Candidates can download the UPSC IAS 2025 notification pdf online at the official website: upsc.gov.in. They can check details about exam dates, the application process, vacancies, exam patterns etc through UPSC IAS notification 2025.  The number of UPSC vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 979. 

Those meeting the eligibility requirements can fill out the UPSC IAS application form online till February 11, 2025. The UPSC IAS and Indian Forest Service (Prelims) 2025 notifications have been issued combined this time. The UPSC CSE exam is held in three stages: prelims, mains and interview. After clearing the UPSC IAS prelims, the shortlisted candidates appear for the mains exam. Those qualifying main, are invited to to appear for a personal interview.

UPSC IAS 2025 Vacancies

The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 979. In 2024, the Commission announced 1,056 vacancies for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) and 150 for the Indian Forest Service (IFoS). In comparison, UPSC had advertised 1,105 posts in 2023. In 2022, the UPSC announced 1,011 vacancies, compared to 712 in 2021 and 796 in 2020.

How to Fill UPSC IAS 2025 Application Form?

Candidates who have completed their graduation and fall within the age limit of 21 to 32 years (for general category) as of August 1 of the application year are eligible to apply for UPSC Civil Services. They can go through the steps provided below to know how to fill out UPSC IAS application form:

Step 1: Go to the official website: upsconline.nic.in or upsc.gov.in

Step 2: Click on the link for One-Time Registration (OTR), on the homepage

Step 3: Now, fill in basic details such as name, date of birth, and contact information

Step 4: Submit the UPSC IAS registration form. An OTP will be sent to the registered email or phone number for verification

Step 5: After verification, log in with the generated credentials

Step 6: Fill up UPSC CSE application form by providing personal details, educational qualifications, and preferred exam centres

Q:   When will IAS 2025 Application Start?

A:

The Union Public Service Commission released the IAS 2025 online application with the official notification on January 22, 2025. The IAS 2025 notification has been released online on January 22, 2025. The Commission provided 20 days to fill out the applications online. The last date to apply online for the IAS 2025 exam is February 11, 2025.

The IAS 2025 admit card will be released online in the first week of May 2025 because the IAS 2025 prelims will be conducted on May 25, 2025.

Q:   When did the IAS 2024 application start?

A:

The Union Public Service Commission released the IAS 2025 notification on January 22, 2025. The Commission provides time of 20 days for the IAS applications. The IAS applications are filled online only and no application of any type is accepted physically for the IAS exam. The UPSC mention all the details related to the IAS application in the official notification. The candidates are suggested to read the official notification before applying for the exam.

The last date to apply for the IAS 2025 exam is February 11, 2025. The candidates will be allowed to make corrections in the IAS 2025 application form from February 12 to 18, 2025.

Q:   Is there any changes done in the IAS 2024 Application Process?

A:

The Union Public Service Commission made changes in the IAS 2024 application process. The Commission made changes in the photo uploading process in the IAS application. The candidates are required to show the date of photograph on the image. The photograph, uploaded by candidate should not be more than 10 days old from the start of the online application process. The candidates need to check the official IAS 2024 notification pdf. 

The other important point for uploading the image is 

  • The name of candidate and the date on which the photograph was taken are clearly mentioned on the photograph.
  • The candidate’s face should occupy 3/4th of the space in the photograph.

Step 7: Upload scanned images of recent photograph and signature

Step 8: Pay the application fee via online banking, debit/credit card, or by visiting a designated bank branch

Step 9: Pay the application fee and download a copy of UPSC IAS 2025 application for future references
