CUET UG 2022 Phase 2 Begins Amid Technical Glitches

CUET UG 2022 Phase 2 exam commenced on August 4. The Slot 1 of the exam was marred with several technical glitches which hampered the test-taking experience of the candidates. There were Central server errors which caused delayed appearance of questions on the screen. Not just that, there were mismatches in terms of the language of questions and answer options. The subject-wise question display also encountered errors in certain cases.

Rajesh, a test taker of CUET 2022 Slot 1 said, “I had appeared for Home Science paper but the answer options were not correct. The questions also took a long time to load on the system for which a lot of time was lost. Although we were given extra time, the delay impacted my patience.”

Shreya, another candidate said, “All the papers went well except the General Test as I faced technical issues while attempting it. I waited for around an hour during the General Test due to a technical problem and couldn’t attempt the General Test paper.”

Anjali, another test taker mentioned that the language of the questions did not match with the answer options, which caused difficulty in attempting the section. “I had selected Hindi as the medium of the questions. While the questions were appearing in Hindi, but the answer options were in English. Although I have attempted the questions but I am not sure about the accuracy.”

NTA to Reconduct General Test

As per the exam centre authorities, candidates who had opted for the General Test, but could not attempt the same due to server errors, will be intimated by the National Testing Agency about a new date and slot to appear for the General Test.

The test centre officials also clarified that the technical glitches ensued at the Central Server and NTA is responsible for the same. The exam centre did not have any role to play in it. “We kept on waiting for the question papers to load on the central server but even after an hour, there was no trace of questions. We had to assure the candidates and make the wait patiently. By the time the questions appeared, candidates started complaining of mismatch of questions and answers in terms of language or subjects.”

In the meanwhile, NTA has also postponed the exam at several centres due to technical glitches. Their test will be conducted on August 12. NTA has also responded to candidates' tweets stating that appropriate decision will be taken based on report from Centre Observer.

NTA has postponed the exams dated August 4 to August 6 at the test centres of Kerala owing to heavy rainfall and flood-like situation. The revised dates will be updated soon on the official website.
