Parv Jain, a bright student from Shahganj, Madhya Pradesh, scored 800/800 in CUET UG 2024, demonstrating his exceptional grasp of his subjects. With a strong foundation in commerce from his 10+2 studies, Parv's preparation involved focused study of NCERT books and English grammar. His future goals include pursuing a career in finance, with a particular focus on securing a spot in B Com (Hons) at Shri Ram College of Commerce.

Q: Can you tell us about your family background?

Parv Jain: I come from a small town called Shahganj in Madhya Pradesh, which typically lacked educational resources. I come from a very humble background, with my father being a shopkeeper and my mother, a housewife. I learned that a lack of financial resources can never halt one from achieving big things in life.

Q: What was your reaction when you saw your CUET UG 2024 score?

Parv Jain: With God's grace, I scored 800/800 in CUET 2024. My reaction was obviously emotional, accompanied by the presence of my parents and sisters. It was a perfect family moment that I would cherish forever.

Q: Can you tell us about your choice of stream in 10+2 and your performance?

Parv Jain: In 10+2, I pursued the commerce stream. Yes, I did choose the commerce stream by my own choice as I had a significant interest in economics and finance. In class 11th, I scored 99% and in class 12th, I scored 96%.

Q: What was your strategy for CUET preparation?

Parv Jain: My strategy to score in CUET specifically for domains was the in-depth study of the NCERTs. Do remember to make short notes so that you can revise them at the last moment. For English, start your preparation as early as possible. I have always considered English as the toughest subject because its syllabus is unlimited and the pattern is unclarified. Also, devote a significant amount of time to learning the vocabulary. Do consider purchasing the English grammar book of CUET Adda247 as it is a comprehensive collection of all important topics and requisite vocabulary. It helped me significantly.

Q: Who supported you the most during your CUET preparation?

Parv Jain: My family has always been my biggest encourager. My aim of scoring 100 percentile always helped me to maintain my motivation level.

Q: Can you describe your routine during CUET preparation?

Q: ย  How do I apply for a college which requires CUET percentage even though am yet to give CUET?

A:

Candidates can apply for CUET score accepting colleges through CUET UG 2025 application form. Candidates belonging to reserved categories are admitted under the seats reserved for them in accordance with the rules prescribed by Government of India. However, in the case of central universities admission, the reservation criteria of the respective university shall be applicable.

Candidates can choose subjects irrresptive of subjects studied in 12th grade under their eligibility conditions for a particular programme.

Parv Jain: Before the 12th boards, I focused more on domains and spent about 1:30 hrs on English every day, devoting at least 20 minutes to vocabulary. After boards, my timetable included 6 hours for English, 2 hours each for domains, and 2 hours for mock tests from Adda247.

Q: What are your future plans and career goals?

Parv Jain: I learned that being very stringent with a particular future plan from the beginning may make one reluctant to explore more career options. Although my particular interest lies in the field of finance.

Q: When did you start preparing for CUET?

Parv Jain: Being aware of the syllabus and pattern of the entrance exam from the very beginning of class 12th is extremely important. I started my preparation right from the beginning of class 12, but couldn't give equitable focus to English. Thus after boards, I had to devote a significant proportion of time to it.

Q: Which courses and universities are you targeting?

Parv Jain: My main target course is B Com (Hons) from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC).

Q: What advice would you give to students preparing for CUET 2025?

Parv Jain: Start your preparation for English and GT (if you are appearing for it) from the very beginning - it will make your CUET journey very smooth. Go through the NCERTs thoroughly, make short notes, and more importantly, analyze and give as many mock tests as you can. Apart from NCERTs, I bought online study materials from CUET Adda247 for my preparation. Mocks and previous years' question papers will help you with the actual exam context. And always dream big. Then develop the necessary consistency and discipline to turn that dream into a reality.
