IISc Bangalore is offering a Refresher Course for Teachers in Physics/Chemistry/Biology/Mathematics from February 20, 2024, to March 4, 2024. The deadline to apply for the course is February 02, 2024. The selected candidates will be informed by February 05, 2024. Also, no TA/DA will be provided.
The registration fee for selected candidates is Rs 1000. Food and accommodation will be taken care by TDC-IISc.
"TDC IISc at Challakere Campus offers a great opportunity for college and university faculty teaching BSc Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. A 14-day residential Refresher Course will be conducted separately for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics. The unique feature of this training will be learning by doing experiments and by computational methods. It will have more than 100 contact hours," reads the official notification.
Steps to apply for Refresher Course for Teachers
Following are the steps the candidates must follow:
Candidates should apply using the format available on the official website.
- The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application.
- A statement of purpose (SOP) explaining broad reasons of interest in this course (not more than 500 words)
- Filled form and SOP must be saved as PDF and emailed to office manager TDS-IISc “amithj.cmc@vendor.iisc.ac.in”
- The subject of your email should be “College (B.Sc.) Teachers Refreshers Course in _(Subject)_ - (your name)”.

Part – 1: Theory Classes include theory classes in which Physics subject comprises - Quantum Mechanics and Condensed Matter Physics, Chemistry - Quantum Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, Biology - Molecular and Cell Biology, Mathematics - Real Analysis and Abstract Algebra, and Part 2 has Experimental Physics, Chemistry; Biology:
Hands-on experiments and demonstrations; Mathematics: Problem Solving Sessions.
