IIT Bombay has released the IIT JAM allotment list for round 1. Candidates can check the JAM 2026 offer letter through JOAPS login.

There is no update on the IIT JAM 2026 first admission list. According to official dates, the JAM seat allotment for round 1 is scheduled for May 25, 2026.

If a candidate is satisfied with the offer, then they must select  Accept & Freeze. In case, the candidate is not interested in participating in the counselling round, then they need to choose the Reject & Quit options. 

Canddiates who have received an offer but are not satisfied, then they need to select Accept & Upgrade. After choosing this option, they will be considered for the higher preference round.

Candidates need to check the seat allotment list to know which course and institute is allotted to them. If an offer is made, candidates need to submit their preference through the JOAPS portal.

GEN category students whose JAM rank is under 37 have a high chance of getting to IIT Bombay Physics course.

The authority has not mentioned the time for the release of the JAM seat allotment list for round 1. However, we are expecting it anytime soon.

If a students foget to accept the offer within the prescribed date, they will not be considered for further admission rounds.

The authority will issue the final offer letter after the completion of all four rounds of admission by the admitting institute through the candidate portal.

Yes, students can withdraw their admission offer within the prescribed date. If a student withdraws their offer after the payment of the seat booking fee, they will receive a refund after deducting processing fees INR 6000.

Students can choose this option if they are not satisfied with the offer and are not interested to participate in the further rounds.

If a candidate is satisfied with the offer, then it is safe to choose Accept & Freeze. Candidates who think they can get a better option in the next round must choose Accept & Upgrade. However, most of the best options are filled in round 1 of IIT JAM counselling.

If a candidate fails to pay the seat booking fee, then their admission offer will be cancelled, and the seat will be allotted to another eligible candidate.

Yes, IIT JAM allotment can be upgraded in round 2. Students who receive an offer in JAM counselling 2026 round 1 need to select Accept & upgrade. This option makes students eligible for higher preference in next round.

The last date to accept the offer for the round 1 is May 30, 2026. Students should pay the seat booking fee by the last date.

IIT JAM 2026 seat allotment fee is paid to secure admission. This fee will be transferred to the admitting institute. They will adjust the seat booking fee against the institute's admission fee during the final admission.

The seat booking fee for IIT JAM is mentioned below.

• INR15,000 (General, OBC–NCL, or EWS categories)
• INR 7,500 (SC, ST, or PwD categories)

When a candidate wants to accept the offer, but also wishes to be considered for the higher preference choice in the next round must choose Accept & Upgrade. 

Students can choose "Accept & Freeze" when they are satisfied with the offer and do not want to participate in the further round of IIT JAM counselling. After choosing this option, students need to pay the seat acceptance fees before the scheduled date.
