While dedicating the nation Rs 1.25 lakh-crore semiconductor facilities, the Prime Minister said that India has taken a big step towards a bright future.
Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) made special arrangements yesterday at the CIT hall of the university to watch the live streaming of ‘India’s Techade: Chips for Viksit Bharat’.
Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi virtually laid the foundation stone of three semiconductor facilities of the country under India Semiconductor Mission and addressed youth on the path breaking initiative taken by the government. Offg. Vice Chancellor Prof. Eqbal Hussain, students, teachers and non-teaching staff enthusiastically watched the event.
'India Semiconductor Mission' started by the government of India is aimed at creating an end-to-end semiconductor ecosystem to enable the country to lead the global semiconductor industry.
Earlier in the morning, Dr. Navaid Zafar Rizvi, from the Department of Applied Sciences and Humanities, JMI delivered an enlightening presentation titled "Pulse of Progress: A Journey into the Heart of Electronics." The aim of the session was to enhance students' understanding of electronics, update them on recent advancements in the field, and provide insights into the projects inaugurated by Prime Minister during India’s Techade-Chips for Viksit Bharat program.
Dr. Rizvi began by outlining the various generations of computers, highlighting the significant improvements made with each iteration. He then proceeded to delve into the top 10 trends in electronics manufacturing, including Advanced Materials, Organic Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Embedded Systems, Printed Electronics, Advanced IC Packaging, Miniaturized Electronics, 3D Printing, and Immersive Technologies.
Transitioning to the latter part of the presentation, Dr. Rizvi discussed India's Semiconductor Mission, offering an overview of the three projects approved by the Union Cabinet. The talk served as an insightful journey through the realm of electronics, shedding light on both current developments and future prospects in the field.
