UGC Chairman has declared that no normalisation process will be used for CUET UG scores. The exam will be conducted in a single window for each subject. CUET UG 2024 exam will be administered from May 15 to May 24, 2024. NTA has released the CUET datesheet 2024.
UGC Chairman Jagadesh Kumar announced on Monday a significant change for this year's Common University Entrance Test-UG (CUET-UG) and the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET). Normalization of scores, a process used to adjust scores for fairness when exams are held in multiple sessions with different papers, will not be required this year. "This year, no normalization of scores will be necessary as both exams will be conducted in a single shift for each subject," M. Jagadesh Kumar stated.
Normalisation, previously utilised to make scores comparable across different exam sessions, has been a point of contention among students who felt it unfairly impacted their performance.
In previous years, the need for normalization arose due to the test being conducted over multiple days to accommodate students' preferences for exam centers. However, this year, the adoption of the OMR mode for CUET UG 2024 allows for a larger number of centers at schools and colleges, facilitating nationwide testing on the same day.
The CUET 2024 is scheduled from May 15 to May 24, with a shift from computer-based to pen and paper mode for 15 subjects and remaining subjects in online mode.
