B.Ed Vs BTC: SC upholds Rajasthan High Court Judgement on third grade teacher recruitment

The top court of the country has upheld the decision of the Rajasthan High Court that only BTC diploma holders will be able to become third-grade teachers.
The Supreme Court decision has given a huge blow to the B.Ed candidates across the country. The apex court dismissed the SLP of the NCPE and the Central Government.
After this decision of the Supreme Court, now only BTC Diploma holders will be eligible for Level-1 of Class III Teacher Recruitment Examination.
A division bench of the Supreme Court headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul heard the petitions of Mukesh Kumar and others, including the SLP of the NCPE and the Central Government, as reported by ABP Live.
During the hearing, senior advocate Dr. Manish Singhvi presented the government's side on behalf of the state government. Advocate Vigyan Shah presented his side on behalf of the diploma holders.
After hearing the arguments of both the sides, the Supreme Court declared the notification of the Rajasthan government valid. The Rajasthan High Court quashed the notification that made B.Ed degree holders eligible for classes 1 to 5.
The decision of the Supreme Court has brought great relief to the BTC candidates across the country. Lakhs of B.Ed pass candidates of Rajasthan will also be affected by this decision.
