DU plans to start Competency Enhancement Course in July

The University of Delhi has planned to start Competency Enhancement Course under which one can join a particular course instead of a complete program, Vice Chancellor Professor Yogesh Singh said this during the Centenary Alumni Meet of the university.
He said the program will be launched in July this year. He said that the university has developed a software named Samarth. Now all Central Universities, IITs, NITs and other premier institutes of the country are on the Samarth portal.
Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Puri was the chief guest at the Centenary Alumni Meet of the university. He discussed the achievements of the university's alumni in his address. He said two alumni from Delhi University have been Nobel laureates, four Chief Justices of Supreme Court, including Justice DY Chandrachud, and 12 Supreme Court judges have been from the University of Delhi.
He said 55 years ago today, he had reached the gate of the university for the first time. Underlining the importance of Hindu College and Delhi University in his life, the Union Minister said that he was made by this institution. After completing his studies in 1974, he got a chance to join foreign services, after having worked as a teacher in St Stephen's college for one year. He said that Delhi University is a great institution and has a glorious history. This university has given a lot to India.
The chief guest also unveiled the logo and website of the University of Delhi Foundation on the occasion. While presiding over the programme, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Delhi Professor Yogesh Singh presented a detailed report of the university.
He said for the development of innovation and entrepreneurship and to promote startup culture, Section 8 company, Udmodaya Foundation, has been established in the university. Apart from this, another company, University of Delhi Foundation, has also been formed to promote interaction between well-wishers and alumni of the university. Calling for donations from the alumni of the university to raise funds for this, the Vice-Chancellor said their target is INR 1000 crore. He said in this, LIC has started a chair with INR 1 crore at present
