Noida: Schools, colleges to stay shut on Sep 22 due to MotoGP, UP ITS

District Inspector of Schools Dr Dharmveer Singh Monday wrote to the principals of all government and private schools (CBSE, ICSE and IB) to declare a holiday after 2 pm on September 21 to September 22 for all students.

As per the order passed by District Inspector of Schools Dr Dharmveer Singh, all colleges and universities have been directed to stay closed for offline classes on September 22. All schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar will remain open only till 2 p.m. on September 21 and stay closed on September 22 on account of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show and the MotoGP race in Greater Noida, said officials.

The schools and colleges can have online classes if required.

"The Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show-2023 is scheduled to be held in Greater Noida Expo Centre from September 21 to 25 and MotoGP will be organised at Buddh International Circuit, Greater Noida, from September 22 to 24. A huge number of visitors are expected to arrive for these events. In view of law and order and traffic preparations, the District Magistrate has directed to close schools so that students and parents do not face any problems," said Singh in his letter, as reported by Indian Express.

In two separate orders - one for schools and the other for universities, colleges, and other educational institutions - he said that UP ITS 2023 is being organized at the Indian Expo Centre and Mart from September 21 to September 25 while the MotoGP is being held at the Buddha International Circuit, Greater Noida from September 22 to 24.

"A huge turnout of visitors and spectators is expected during these events. In compliance with the instructions given by district magistrate Manish Verma, the orders have been passed in order to ensure that there is no inconvinience to the students and their parents in view of the possibility of the crowd and in view of the law, security arrangements and traffic arrangements," he said.
