Union Secretary Health visits AIIMS Jammu; 45% work completed

Union Secretary Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Rajesh Bhushan visited under construction All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu at Vijaypur and found 45% of work has been completed.

Rajesh Bhushan, the Union Secretary of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) had visited under construction All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Jammu at Vijaypur on Monday and inspected the various development works under the execution of the medical institute.

As per the officials, he was apprised through a detailed presentation about the status of the construction works being done at Vijaypur, as reported by Greater Kashmir.

AIIMS Jammu to be completed by April 2023

He was informed that nearly 45% of civil and other infrastructure work is complete and the rest of the work related to AIIMS Jammu is expected to be completed by April 2023.

The project has two phases including medical college, hospital building, residential quarters, hostels, and other utilities.

The premier health institution is being set up at a sanctioned cost of INR 1661 crore including INR 1452 crore for medical college and other infrastructure besides INR 209 crore for the latest technology-based medical equipment and related material.

CPWD (Central Public Works Department) tweet reads, "Shri Rajesh Bhushan, Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family welfare visited AIIMS Jammu Project on March 07, 2022, and reviewed the progress of the project."

"Shri Pradeep K Dixit, Chief Engineer and Executive Director, AIIMS Jammu, Dr Shakti Kumar Gupta, Director, AIIMS Jammu and other officers of CPWD and state administration were present during the visit," said CPWD's another tweet.
