RRB NTPC 2020 Recruitment: ECA finalization dates postponed again till further notice due to COVID-19

RRB NTPC aspirants need to wait for some more time for the exam dates because the Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have again postponed the finalization of Exam Conducting Agency (ECA) till further notice. The official notice issued by RRB Chennai regarding this reads, “In view of preventive measures to be taken to contain the spread of Novel Coronavirus and the 21 days lockdown period, the date of Pre-Bid Conference, Closing and Opening dates of bids/offers which were indicated in Corrigendum 1 are hereby revised further.”

“The fresh dates will be intimated on IREPS website in due course of time. No further newspaper advertisement will be released in this regard. For any further revision in dates/updates, login to www.ireps.gov.in. Depending on the prevalent situation, the pre-bid conference may be held through video conferencing, if required,” the release further reads.

According to the revised dates in corrigendum no 1 issued on March 24, 2020, the pre-bid conference was supposed to be held on April 7. The release of responses and clarifications on pre-bid queries was scheduled to take place on April 21. The last date and time for receipt of offers/bids through e-tender online was April 30. The time and date of opening of technical bids against the tender were April 30.

This is the second time that RRBs have been postponed ECA tender dates. Initially, as per the notice issued on March 2, the pre-bid conference was scheduled to be held on March 24. The release of responses and clarifications on pre-bid queries was to be held on April 7. The last date and time for receipt of offers/bids through e-tender online was April 16. The time and date for opening of the tender were April 16.

 The recruitment of RRB NTPC is conducted to fill up a total of 35,208  Non-Technical Popular Category (NTPC) posts in various zonal railways and production units of Indian Railways. Against this RRB NTPC vacancies, a total of 1,26,30,885 applications were received. The posts included under this recruitment are Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Time Keeper, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master.
