What is SAT India?
SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardised undergraduate university admission test conducted by the College Board for offering admission to candidates in universities of the US and Canada. SAT score is also accepted by some universities/ colleges in the UK and Australia. SAT India 2025 Eligibility Criteria
- The minimum eligibility criteria for appearing in the SAT exam is a Class 12 pass or equivalent from a recognised board or university.
- There is no minimum or maximum age to apply for the SAT exam. However, the majority of students taking the SAT exam fall into the age group of 17–19 years.

SAT India 2025 Exam Process
Qualifying SAT India requires candidates to go through a process which includes the following steps:
Step 1: Register for SAT Exam
Candidates can register online for the SAT exam at the official website. The application form must be submitted before the deadline for the particular exam phase. In case, you miss a deadline you can fill the form again for the next upcoming phase.
Step 2: Get SAT Admission Ticket
The SAT admission ticket is issued to candidates after they successfully register for the exam. It is a confirmation document containing details of the SAT exam date and test centre.Â
Step 3: Appear for SAT
Candidates have to appear for the SAT exam on the scheduled date and at the allotted exam center. The SAT General Test syllabus includes Verbal Ability, Maths, Writing and Language and relevant course subject.
Step 4: Check SAT Scores/ Result

SAT India 2025 Exam Pattern
The SAT conducting authority, the College Board publishes the SAT exam pattern on the official website. The SAT exam consists of two sections namely; Reading and Writing (RW), and Mathematics. There will be 54 questions in the reading and writing section and 44 questions are asked in the Mathematics section. The time allotted to attempt both sections of the SAT 2025 exam (India) will be 2 hours and 14 minutes. Candidates will be allotted separate time durations to solve each section. Candidates cannot switch between sections in a given time period. This consortium known as the India Global Alliance offers Indian educational institutions an opportunity to engage with some of the world's top-notch universities including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Columbia University, Cambridge University, McGill University, etc.

SAT India Eligibility Criteria for Scholarships
To be eligible for SAT scholarships, aspirants must fulfill the below-mentioned criteria:
- Candidate must be a resident of India
- The candidate should either appear in class 12 or have passed 10+2 from any recognized board in India.
- The combined income of both parents must be less than INR 8 Lakhs
- Candidates should be top performers in the SAT exam (score of 1300+/ 1600).
- In the case of a university-based scholarship, The candidate must have filled out the university admission form (The university in which applying for the scholarship).
- In the case of scholarship through a trust or NGO, Candidates must apply for the SAT-based scholar as early as possible.
- Candidates must enroll and get the admission offer letter in the university after getting the SAT-based scholarship.
