BTech is a four-year course divided into eight semesters. UPES Dehradun offers BTech in 28 specialisations and Global BTech in five specialisations through the UPES School of Advanced Engineering (SOAE). UPES School of Computer Science (SOCS) offers BTech (Hons) in 12 specialisations and a Global BTech in CSE. BTech are available in 10 specialisations under UPES School of Health Sciences & Technology (SOHST). The selection for BTech course will be based on national-level entrance exams.  The total tuition fee for the BTech programme at UPES ranges between INR 9.5 lakh - INR 18.3 lakh. This fee range does not include the hostel fee or the mess fee and only includes the cost of tuition for the four year BTech programme. The fee mentioned here is taken from unofficial sources and hence, is indicative. Before taking admission to the BTech programme the aspiring candidates need to pay the application fee and the fee for for application is INR 1350.

UPES Dehradun admission to BTech/ BTech (Hons) course is based on national-level entrance exams like JEE Main, CUET, etc. The university also conducts UPESEAT for providing admission to BTech course. UPES Dehradun accepts JEE Main/ CUET UG score for admission to BTech/ BTech (Hons) course. Aspirants must also Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 50% aggregate and a minimum of 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Maths/ Biology, and English in Class 12 to apply with JEE Main or CUET score. Candidates must secure at least 50 percentile for admission to through SAT India score. For aspirants who wish to apply with their merit in the last qualifying exam must pass Class 10 and Class 12 with at least 75%-80% aggregate and a minimum of 75%-80% aggregate in Class 12 PCM subjects. BTech is one of the popular courses of UPES Dehradun. As per NIRF 2022 rankings, the university was ranked at 61 position under 'Engineering' category. The rankings saw a jump from 91 position in 2021 and 167 position in 2020. Apart from the Engineering course, UPES Dehradun was also the part of NIRF Ranking under 'University' category.
