APEdCET Prep Tips 2025: The exam conducting authority, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam conducts the APEdCET exam every year to shortlist students for BEd courses. These courses are offered by participating colleges from Andhra Pradesh. No it is not necassry to take coaching classes for the APEdCET exam. However, if candidates want expert assistance they can opt for it. While coaching can be helpful, it's not mandatory. With the right study materials, dedication, and self-discipline, students can prepare effectively on their own.

Yes, the syllabus for the Andhra Pradesh Education Common Entrance Test (APEdCET) remains same every year. However, it's always a good idea to check the latest syllabus provided by the conducting authority Andhra University, Vishakhapatnam before starting the preparation.

Q:   What is the qualifying marks in the APEdCET entrance test?

A:

As per the official brochure, the qualifying marks in Andhra Pradesh EdCET (except for SC/ST category candidates) are 37 out of total marks. For SC/ST category candidates, there will be no qualifying marks for ranking. However, candidates can check the APEdCEt marking scheme as well here. In APEdCET exam, one mark is allotted for every correct answer in the exam. There is no negative for an incorrect answer in the exam.

APEdCET Preparation Strategy 2025

The APEdCET is a scale point for candidates planning to pursue the BEd course and eye a career in Teaching. Candidates who qualify in the exam will be shortlisted to enroll for a course from a government-approved BEd college in Andhra Pradesh. Here students can check the APEdCET preparation strategy -

Refer to the APEdCET Exam Pattern

Before starting the preparation, candidates must understand the APEdCET exam pattern 2025 as per which there are 150 questions in the exam, and each test carries 1 mark each. The questions are based on General English, General Knowledge and Teaching Aptitude, and Methodology Paper (Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Biological Sciences, Social Studies, or English). The test will be conducted in English and Hindi languages. There will be no negative marking in the exam which will give candidates ample freedom to solve the questions without worrying about minus marking.

Create an APEdCET Study Plan

Now once candidates are well aware of the exam pattern and the APEdCET syllabus they need to create a study plan - 

  • Based on the topics candidates can dedicate specific hours for each section. Focus on topics where you need improvement, without sidelining the easy topics.
  • Include revision and APEdCET mock tests and start it before 30 days before the exam.
  • Regular practice is key, especially for Mental Ability.

Q:   Is there negative marking in the APEdCET exam?

No, there is no negative marking in the APEdCET exam. As per the official notification released by the exam body Andhra Pradesh University on behalf of APSCHE no marks will be deducted if candidates attempt the wrong answer or leave the question unattended. Hence, candidates can attempt as many questions as they want without the stress of minus marking.
