Effectiveness of Placement Cell for B.A. Programs at Amity University Ranchi

Based on the reviews and feedback from students and alumni, here's what we found out about the placement cell for B.A. programs at Amity University Ranchi:

    * Limited Placements: According to multiple reviewers, the placement cell is not very effective, and only around 40-50% of students are able to secure jobs through campus placements.
    * Off-Campus Interviews: Some reviewers pointed out that the university showcases off-campus interview offers as part of their placement figures, which may not accurately reflect the true picture.
    * Placement Cell Involvement: While the placement cell does seem to have some involvement, not all students have equal access to opportunities, according to one reviewer.

Overall, while the placement cell may have some limitations, the university seems to prioritize other areas such as infrastructure, faculty support, and course curriculum design. However, more attention could be paid to improving the placement outcomes for B.A. programme students.

Shot overview of Amity University, Ranchi.
Placements: Many different companies came for recruitment which consist some high profile companies such as Google, Wipro, Microsoft and many more multinational companies. As per our course, many local news channel, print media channels and some high profile channels come for recruitment every year.
Infrastructure: Hostel is quite good, but it's not owned by Amity. It is basically a partnership kind of hostel. The new campus is under construction which is going to be the most high-tech campus of Jharkhand. I hope that it will be completed before the session of 2023 batch will start. The quality of food of current hostel is far better than most of the hotels and PGs in Ranchi. About sports and game, college conduct different types of events all around the year.
Faculty: The faculty are very professional, friendly and helpful. About the curriculum and exam usually work as per the schedule. The exam was conducted with strict rules and regulations and supervised by the faculty members of exam department. The exams are conducted 4.5 months after the session starts.
Other: Almost half of our college life was spent on online mode but still college gave their most effort to make it as interactive as possible. Annual the university conduct a fest around March and annual sports event (sangathan) around September. Apart from these, many events were conducted around the year as per the departments.

The complete amazing journey of three years, I even have an on-campus place.
Placements: Placements are good, many companies like collaborate, British Telecommunications, Byjus, etc. Come to offer good packages to graduate programs. You just need to maintain a CGPA of 6 and above with no backlogs. College provides good support and the placement department is quite helpful.
Infrastructure: The college has got air-conditioned classrooms, water purifiers, and washrooms on every floor. Hostels are well maintained with zero ragging incidents, seniors are helpful. Hostel wardens are quite strict, food is neither good nor bad. 24*7 electricity and water supply are available.
Faculty: Faculty are quite supportive and would even respond to students apart from college hours. The course curriculum is as simple and informative as it should be, and class hours are convenient. Regular exams are held to check students' assessments apart from the pandemic times.
Other: Chose this course on family suggestions and was by far my best decision to choose Amity. Regular cultural events are organized by the college to keep the mood of students light and entertaining.

    Good faculty, not-so-good college.
Placements: The placements are actually a kind of scam. The people placed are often from off-campus interviews that the university tends to show as their achievements, but they are off-campus placements. There are at most 50-60 percent placements. The placement cell has some involvement, but not everyone has good luck to get through.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite decent, but at the time I was attending the college, it had a total of 3 campuses which were quite far apart, and you have to spend your money on travel because you don't know when and where your exams or classes can happen. There is no particular hostel facility available for those three campuses. They just refer you to some hostels that are not that good, with food that can cause indigestion.
Faculty: The only good thing was the faculty, who were quite knowledgeable and approachable except for one or two. The curriculum is quite vast, but the faculty members make it easy for you to understand. The exams can vary from moderate to difficult based on the stream.

Opportunities to strengthen your team-building capacity are simultaneously provided.
Placements: In recent times, Amity provided a handsome frequency of placement in different courses, specifically in business courses and other technical courses. Placements of up to 40 lack per annum have been provided to several deserving candidates. Internships are also being provided (paid as well as unpaid) to the students of all the courses.
Infrastructure: Hostels are well maintained and food is prepared with utmost sanitation. Facilities such as libraries and seminar halls are provided for language-based courses. Elaborate laboratories have been provided to the students of Science and a well-equipped mock court has been set up for law students.
Faculty: Exams are difficult unless you pay attention in your class. Teachers and faculty members provide appropriate materials before the exams as well as during classes. The E-library is always there for students who need more. All the lectures are recorded and uploaded to the cloud for students to go through them even after the classes.

This college is like heaven on earth.
Placements: The placements in our college are average. Approximately 40% of students got placed. Few students got placed last year in my course. The top recruiting companies like Aaj Tak, News11, Bhaskar, etc., came here. Last year, only 5 students got placed from my course, of which 2 are in News11. Journalism is the top role offered in my course.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are the best, in my opinion. It has modern classrooms with Wi-Fi, smart boards etc. Other facilities like labs and library are available. Other than this, there are hostel facilities, along with canteen and medical. For sports, there is a large playground for many games like cricket, football, basketball etc.
Faculty: In terms of teaching, our college is also a better option because all teachers are well qualified with the best knowledge. Teachers have good a relationship with students. There are many curricular activities related to our course which helps students to be perfect.
Other: This college is better in terms of money, knowledge and facilities. The best thing about this college is that it is eco-friendly. Events and fests are held. The college is near the market, so it also has the best connectivity. One thing that should be improved is its placement cell, and it should empower the students.

Great campus life, amazing festivals, good infrastructure, dissatisfied with placements in 2024.
Placements: The college placement in general is good, but talking about my course, which is journalism, the placement is very poor. Only a few companies had come in to recruit those with low salaries. Salaries offered ranged from 4.2 LPA (the highest) to 1.8 LPA (the lowest). Companies that came in were publication houses, sales, PR, and so on.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite nice, with all facilities, including Wi-Fi, provided to all students. Classrooms are spacious with AC, and the library is there with all the books required for your course. Additionally, there is a canteen and medical room, but yes, the hostel at Amity Ranchi has yet to be setup. By next year, it will be ready.
Faculty: The faculty is great. They all have great teaching experiences and academic qualifications. The course curriculum has been designed to be relevant, which makes the students industry-ready. Talking about semester exams, it's not that difficult to pass. Topics discussed in class and those mentioned on the syllabus are asked, as are some practical questions that anyone can answer. The passing percentage is 35–40%.
Other: Amity is a great place for campus life and extracurricular activities. Fests, workshops, and seminars are conducted on a regular basis to enhance the learning and participation of students. Amity is even known for its extravagant events. Students enjoy themselves to their fullest during these times.

There is no uniform for Bachelor courses in Amity. But there is a dress code for MBA students as they have to wear formals and boys have to wear Amity tie with formals. No one can attend class or give exams without formals and tie.
