M.A. in Advertising and Public Relations - Batch of 2025
    Offered by St. Joseph’s University
    4.2

M.A. in advertising and public relations at SJU.
Placements: Around 80% of students get placed if they choose to register with the placement cell. The average salary package is 5 LPA, which can vary depending on individual skills and experience. Recruitment is mainly done by agencies rather than corporates, although companies like EY have also participated in recruitment.
Infrastructure: We have great infrastructure, including a well-equipped library and canteens. The only downside is that the better facilities are located on UG campus, which is right opposite ours. SJU also has excellent sports facilities, such as a football and cricket field, a basketball court, and an indoor court for badminton.
Faculty: Our teachers are all extremely qualified, and we have a set of external faculty members coming in from top companies to teach us. Having well-established individuals from the industry directly teach us has been very fulfilling. The curriculum is constantly updated and in tune with industry trends and requirements, ensuring that we are job-ready. The exams are practical, theoretical, or both, depending on the subject. With hard work and consistency, they can do well in the course.
Other: I chose this course because it is largely job-oriented and trains us to meet industry requirements, rather than being solely theory-based.

Placements: In this college, we can't see a placement cell that is very active. Other departments might have a placement cell, but not in our department because we are students of humanities and social sciences. That's why we don't have any placement cell in our department. However, other departments might have one, and they take companies for recruitment, and some students do get jobs.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure in this college is pretty good, but not in all the blocks. Some blocks still have outdated flooring and dangerous tables; everything looks outdated. Some departments have been updated, and those should be updated in all the blocks. The hostel is good, with quality food for the students. There is also a canteen on campus where you can get good food. Bangalore University has a big library located in the center of the university where you can study peacefully with whatever books you need. Additionally, Bangalore University has a sports ground where many sports activities take place, and students who are interested can get selected for those activities.
Faculty: Teachers at Bangalore University are very well qualified and knowledgeable. Each block has teachers who hold their PhDs. However, this course doesn't prepare students to be industry-ready because of the subjects we have taken, while other departments do prepare their students for the industry. There are two exams each year, with one exam per semester, which is not very difficult. Most people pass; about 95% of students pass the exam, and you can pass easily by studying for about a month.
Other: I was very fascinated by English literature, which is why I chose this course. Events in the college happen every month, including theatre activities, freshers' parties, farewell parties, and we celebrate cultural festivals like Ethnic Day, etc. Bangalore University has good connectivity; you can get buses, cabs, and autos from the campus. Regarding scholarships, there are scholarships for students from the central and state governments, and everyone can receive them.

    3Placements3Infrastructure4Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Kristu is the best college in the Hennur area.
Placements: At Kristu Jayanti University, we provide the best placements, with a placement rate of 67% in our Masters of Journalism and Mass Communication course. In our M.A. JMC program, the highest package offered is 32 LPA, and the lowest package is 7 Lacs. Companies like Indian Express, NDTV, and India Group actively participate in our placement drives. The curriculum of the course is highly relevant.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our course include expert faculty and high teaching quality. Wi-Fi is available on campus for teachers, but unfortunately not for students. There is a vast parking space for bikes, and well-equipped labs are provided. Our college also produces a magazine each year for the JMC course.
Faculty: At Kristu, we boast the best teaching faculty, offering hands-on learning with modern labs. Faculty members are easily approachable, and the curriculum seamlessly aligns with the current industry standards, preparing students for roles such as news readers at NDTV. The course is highly relevant to mass communication. Semester exams are challenging, with a passing percentage set at 67%.

Placements: This Bangalore university is a government university. They might want favourite placement opportunities for the students. Me being a theoretical and science and social sciences student, we don't have any such placement opportunities in our department.
Infrastructure: In the Bangalore University, you can see the huge library with furnished tables to study. The library has thousands of books which are related to the text and non-related to the text. Even the hostel facilities are also good in the University campus where you can get good, tasty, and hygienic food, 3 meals each day. Wi-Fi facilities and the lab facilities are also provided by the university for the students.
Faculty: It comes to the teachers, they are very well qualified and knowledgeable, and their teaching qualities top-notch. They’ll give 100% to the students; they won't compromise on teaching. In the semester exam, usually 95 to 100% of students will pass. Exams are not that difficult; you can easily pass by studying for 2 weeks to or three weeks before the exams.
Other: I love to study literature and I love to know the things which happen out of the world. That's why I have chosen this course; things would have improved like a furnished classroom, the benches, and the flooring in the. Events and festivals will be celebrated in the department campus also; it is good which is surrounded with lots of greenery. Also, this scholarship is provided to the students by the state and Central Government; it will be around 15000. Connectivity from the campus is also good; you can get auto cabs, purses, and we will also get the metro from 1 km from the university.

The infrastructure of the campus is very important to study, which is very calm and nice.
Placements: Placements are not so good and not so bad. The students are eligible for placements in the 7th semester. You also get an internship in the 2nd year. Mostly, companies come to campus except big ones. The number of offers by high-package companies is not much. But mass recruiters also visit here. The percentage is approximately 75%.
Infrastructure: There are many fests, events, and annual festivals held in my college. The accessibility of books is very good; there are many books of different authors on the same subject for practice. Even technological benefits are given in the college. There are many fields for extracurricular activities to increase credits. And also, there are many clubs which provide social, environmental, and cultural help to society.
Faculty: Faculty-to-student ratio is good. Faculty are good and bad here like everywhere else. Some profs are pretty nice here and very helpful, which guides you in every field. I have not personally met any faculty which I can hate. 2 exams mid-sem and end-sem, and in between 2 quizzes. Very few can clear. Very relevant.

You will see many types of people in the University. Nice campus .
Placements: I don't think college has placements; we ourselves should get placed. Being a government institute, there will be no placement. You need to search for your job. Students won't get any internships from the course we need to present the paper, and there will be electives papers in which you can take any subjects you want that are there in university.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi facilities for the students. The classrooms are average, and no good benches are there. Washrooms could have been better. Most of the departments have no drinking water facilities; they should be provided to some department that has no water facility; it could have been better.
Faculty: The teacher was helpful and knowledgeable. Semester exams will be strict. Every teacher is a Ph.D. holder. Whatever we ask the teachers, they are very helpful there to tell what we want, and teachers make us do a presentation about the topic, which will be very helpful for the students.
Other: I'm very interested in literature; that's why I chose this course. Infrastructure and buildings are good. Events and festivals should be better in future years.
