Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) - Batch of 2027
Offered by College of Fisheries, Kishanganj - Bihar Animal Sciences University
4.8

COF, Kishanganj is the best college.
Placements: I got into my college through BCECE, which is a competitive exam in Bihar, and about 30 to 40 students get the opportunity to enroll in this college. The highest salary offered is about Rs. 40,000 per month, and the lowest salary offered is Rs. 10,000 per month. The average salary offered is Rs. 25,000 per month. We get government jobs after completing our course. No company can recruit directly from our college because it is a government college. We can get internships from different colleges, but not from companies. Foreign universities, like Hokkaido University, also accept students from our course as interns. Roles offered are fisheries extension officer, assistant professor, and professor.
Infrastructure: Our hostel provides a single room per person with 24/7 Wi-Fi and each student gets a Bed, 1 mattress, 1 cupboard, along with 1 study table and 1 chair. There are some facilities like common induction and washing machines, etc. Every Saturday our college bus takes us to Kishanganj for marketing because the market is a little far from our college. Our mess charges are also very less, it is only Rs. 2,500 per month. Labs are well-maintained and contain every equipment required.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable and they teach very nicely. Teaching quality is very good, they provide students with notes and teach every single meaning of the word. They also use presentation to better understand the concept. Course curriculum is very relevant courses like meteorology, and food chemistry play a good role in connecting us with nature and Science respectively. It makes students industry-ready so they can go into any field they want after completing this course.
Other: I chose this course because it is the least saturated and I can get many employment opportunities in the future. I can get into any company after completing my Ph.D. I can also open my own business after completing the course because this course makes us ready to pursue aquaculture. Course is already better, and does not need any changes. National conference occurs in our college every year, and it is the best time in our college. Campus crowd is good because 3 colleges come under our campus. However, the market is a little far away, so our college bus takes us to the main market every Saturday. Campus surroundings are also nice, and the people there are supportive of students, assisting us in our fieldwork. We get a scholarship of Rs. 12,000 for around 6 months. There are so many extracurricular activities in which one can take part ex-sports, conferences, fest, etc.

It is a good college of Bihar animal science University, it has good placements.
Placements: There is only one college of dairy technology in Bihar. About 80% placement in this course. The highest package is 10-12 LPA and the lowest is 0.7 LPA and the average is 8-9 LPA. There are several companies Sudha, Comfed, Amul, ITC, etc., that come for recruiting. Around 80% of students got an internship in this course.
Infrastructure: There are very facilities and infrastructure available like a library, and a computer lab to seat all the students together. Wi-Fi is also available in the college and library. The quality of the facilities in our hostel is very good, the quality of food available in the mess and canteen is very good. There are many sports and games played in this college.

Good college for placements & scholarships.
Placements: About 60% of students got placed every year. The highest placement was 5.2LPA, the average was between 3.5 LPA to 4 LPA and the lowest was 3 Lacs. The top recruiters who visited our campus were ITC, RAJ FRESH, etc. almost every student gets internships in our college.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure of our college are good. Our college is well-equipped with an air conditioning library, three classrooms, and labs with Wi-Fi connectivity. playing games is also allowed on our campus Our college has both boys' and girls' hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly Ph.D. holders. They have wide experience in their respective fields. They are very much helpful. Course curriculum designed is very relevant making the students industry-ready. Semester exams are not so hard they are quite easy to pass.
Other: I choose this course because I was having a keen interest in agriculture sector from the beginning. The best thing about this course is that it is totally new branch and it has wide scope in the coming future. It will grow more eventually as India is a totally agriculture-based country. I would wish that we must reserve a category of jobs in government as this field has very less opportunities in the government sector. Different types of events, cultural programs, and sports are regularly organised in our college. Our college also provides scholarships of Rs 2000 per month to every student. Campus crowd is very nice and campus is also spread in an area of 10 acre of land. This college comes under Bihar animal sciences university. Almuni network of this college is also very good.

Role of Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Dairy Technology.
Placements: Almost 100% of students in our course get placed, but it is not true for all the batches. Some of the students from other batches were not selected on campus, but they got a job anywhere in India. The highest salary package offered ranges between was 3.5-3.6 LPA.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college was good, but some of the infrastructures were in progress. There are different buildings for the different departments, including laboratories and workshop rooms. The overall infrastructure is good and suited to all essential equipment.
Faculty: Teachers in our college were helpful. They always help the students related to the course curriculum and the notes. All facilities are available for the students. Extra classes were also taken to strengthen the poor students so that they could do better in the exam.
Other: I have chosen this course because it is helpful in getting a job. This course is fully based on the industry. Industry always needs to graduate from particular branch.

Of course, you can get admission to Bihar Agricultural University Patna for M.Tech in the absence of the ICAR AIEEA because BASU has its own entrance examination for M.Tech Programme. These programs are offered to candidates who took the entrance examination conducted by the university for B.Tech/B.
