Is B.Sc (Hons) at Christ University Bangalore a good choice?

Here's what we've gathered from the reviews:

* Infrastructure: Christ University has a good infrastructure, with modern classrooms, well-maintained laboratories, and a vast library with a wide collection of books. The campus is also eco-friendly and has plenty of green spaces.
* Faculty: Faculty members are generally considered good, with many holding PhDs and having good knowledge of their subjects. However, some reviewers mention that the exams can be challenging, particularly the Continuous Internal Assessments (CIAs).
* Placements: While the university claims to have good placement records, some reviewers express concern about the lack of placements for the B.Sc (Hons) program, specifically mentioning low salaries and limited job opportunities.
* Campus Life: Reviewers praise the university's vibrant campus life, with numerous extracurricular activities, cultural events, and festivals throughout the year. Many appreciate the relaxed atmosphere and proximity to amenities like food stalls and medical facilities.
* Teaching Style: Teachers are described as caring, supportive, and knowledgeable, with some using innovative teaching methods to engage students.

Based on these factors, here's our verdict:

While Christ University has its strengths, such as its impressive infrastructure and good faculty, the B.Sc (Hons) programme may face challenges when it comes to placements. Students seeking to pursue further education or research might find the programme suitable, whereas those looking for immediate employment after graduation might need to explore alternative options.

However, for those willing to put in effort and adapt to the academic rigor, Christ University can offer a fulfilling educational experience amidst a lively and supportive campus environment.

Remember to weigh these points carefully before making your decision. Good luck!

Christ University's physics and Maths course.
Placements: About 40% of students from my department get placed every year from Christ University. Companies like IBM and Wipro are one of the top recruiters. Jobs as HR and jobs in IT sectors are prominent that we get from Christ. The highest salary ever recorded was 24 LPA, and the average is 6 LPA. All the students can get internships if they try.
Infrastructure: The facilities in the college are pretty decent. There are very advanced machineries in labs, and high-speed Wi-Fi connections are provided by the university. The classrooms are also very good. Most of the classes are soundproofed and air-conditioned. The campus has two libraries which are open till 9 pm. The quality of food is very good and available in the mess. We have a health center where a doctor sits. We have a lot of grounds for a variety of sports.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and very cooperative with students. They are highly qualified and have very good knowledge in their work. The course here really makes you employable and industry-ready. The difficulty level of semesters is moderate level, and you need at least 40% marks to pass at Christ University.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to learn physics, and when I joined here, I came to know that the course provides two different degrees. Either you can choose a degree in Physics and Maths or Physics and Chemistry. The campus is a very crowded area where you can connect with a lot of great people.

Review of pure sciences @ Christ University.
Placements: A good amount of students were placed in streams of BBA, B.Com, and B.Tech, but there was less demand for students from pure sciences; the placement rate is very low in all colleges, but past students were able to secure admission in nice colleges. Overall, nice placements and research opportunities are available.
Infrastructure: The course has great facilities, like a library has a great range of books and also has good lab equipment, and Wi-Fi is available all over the campus. Classrooms are noisy and modern, but due to its location in central Bangalore, there is noise pollution due to vehicles and aircraft.
Faculty: The teachers are very nice and approachable. They encourage problem solving, especially in the physics department, and the math department can be improved a bit. The course curriculum is good, but it can be made a bit deeper as it's a research-based program; semester exams are moderate to test your learning and understanding of the course.
Other: I chose this course due to my interest in pursuing pure sciences. The crowd here is amazing; fests and events are regular and exciting. They give a chance to explore every interest of oneself.

Not really good placements in biotech, but good infrastructure.
Placements: Since I am still doing my first semester, I am not that clear on the placements option. From what my seniors have told me, there aren't many options for biotech courses. But for other courses, the placements are really good, with the package being 30 lakhs per annum.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure are pretty good for our department. The life science department is situated in the 1st block and has labs and classrooms. The hostel facilities provided are also good, along with the food provided. More priority is given to students coming from other states.
Faculty: The teachers in our department are qualified professors, with each one of them having a PhD with research work. The teaching quality depends on different teachers. Some teach really well, while some are average. Since it is my first year, we have theory classes with some lab classes included. The semester exam is pretty fine and average, with a passing mark of 40 percent.
Other: I chose this course as I was interested in biology from my 7th grade. Forensic science is also really interesting. Christ University is known for its feat, and there are people who joined Christ because of its ethnicity. Campus life is amazing.

Good campus life and huge campus.
Placements: There are good recruiting companies, but they require skills that our batch students don't have because the teachers have experience but not the method of teaching, so the students go unselected in the interview. The campus placements in 2019 were really good.
Infrastructure: The hostel is really very strict, and it has a cut-to-cut timing that after 8 pm no student will be allowed until they get the letter from the father. The warden takes the attendance of the hostel members, and he has to submit that every day to the office.
Faculty: I hate the teachers of my course because they are now really very friendly. They are always into the course and studies and not in the extracurricular activities. The teachers want their work on time, and even if we have a genuine reason, they would still make us face the consequences.
Other: The campus life is really happening. There are many organizations to make your day really interesting in your boring days.

It is a place to get our career set.
Placements: Since I am a first-year student, I am not very aware of the placements in our department. But my seniors told me that there are pretty good placements. If students have good GPA they get average salary packages. Out of 10, around 5 students get placed. But to my knowledge other departments like BBA and all there are very good placements. Our seniors got placed with a salary package of 30 LPA.
Infrastructure: We have good facilities like projectors and well-equipped labs with all the latest machines. The library has good books with books for every department and the best reference books for courses. The quality of food in the hostel is average but the other facilities are very adjustable. There is a medical room and we do have an outdoor gaming area.
Faculty: Teachers are good and qualified. They have good knowledge of their field. We have internships to do and Skill Enhancement courses which make us ready for industry. The semesters are well advanced so it is a bit hard to catch on but you can learn well. The pass percentage is 85% overall.
Other: I chose biotechnology and forensic science. I chose it because I wanted to pursue Bioinformatics so this course gives a good base. I wish they could upgrade the teaching patterns with video lectures and live interaction classes. We have a vibrant campus. They organise a fest in every department and every discipline is maintained on the entire campus. We have interaction fests like Bhasa Utsav and Darpan and Pedagogic League for sports.
