On Placements

Q:   Does Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya offer better placements than Indore Indira Business School?

A:

An analysis of multiple factors is necessary to compare the placement potential of Indore Indira Business School (IIBS) with Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya (DHSGSU).

6 MBA students and 9 BSc Forensic students were placed during the Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya placements in 2023.  192 students have registered as of right now, and 121 of them took part in the placement drive in 2023. The highest package was INR 8,00,000, the average package was INR 3,50,000 and the lowest package was 1,75,000. Some of the students got internships in several companies and the top role offered was software developer.

In Indore Indira Business School, approximately 60–70% of the pupils were placed. The top hiring firms at our college include HDFC AGRO, Reliance, Redington, ICICI Securities, and Kent RO. About 30–40% of the students were able to secure internships with the Sahara Group and in the transportation industry in Dubai and Mauritius. A senior manager and an assistant manager are the top positions available to students. There were two different salary packages available: 2.85 LPA was the lowest and 13 LPA was the highest.

Q:   What was the highest package offered at Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya for B.Tech?

A:

According to Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya, their B.Tech graduates receive the highest salary package.

1) According to news reports and a few student testimonials, the highest annual compensation that B.Tech Computer Science graduates have claimed in the past has ranged from Rs 8 to 10 lakhs.

2) The best packages appear to be somewhat less for core engineering specialties like Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil, at levels of Rs 6–8 Lacs annually.

3) During campus placements, these are typically provided by IT services providers, software product companies, or research and analytics firms. Leading recruiting agencies change every year.

Q:   How effective is the placement cell for BSc courses at Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya?

A:

Unfortunately, the placement cell is non-existent for BSc courses at Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya. None of the students mentioned receiving any placement offers or having a dedicated placement cell during their studies. According to one student, "No company visits this campus for placements. Around 20%-30% of the students get internships from our college."

However, it's worth noting that some students reported that the university plans to launch a placement cell in the future. One student stated, "Yes, previously university launched a placement cell, so yes, we can expect a placement in the future." Another student added, "But not yet, it's still under construction."

Overall, it appears that the university currently lacks a functional placement cell for its BSc programmes, making it challenging for graduates to secure employment immediately after completing their degree.

Note: The answer is based on the verified Shiksha reviews of students and alumni of BSc courses at Dr Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalya

Satisfied, peaceful, and lovable.
Placements: Dr. Harisingh Gour University does not provide placements for non-professional courses, and the chances for professional courses are also low. But it provides a wide range of courses and subjects like psychology and criminology. They also offer diploma courses with a wide range of subjects.
Infrastructure: It has good infrastructure. The hostels have facilities like Wi-Fi and a mess, but no canteen or games are available. The hostel rooms are two-seater, while for postgraduate students, they provide single rooms. They also organize hostel day each year to provide a platform for enjoyment.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, but some departments lack faculty, and the teaching quality is average. The curriculum is based on the New Education Policy, and exams are conducted semester-wise. Faculty provides notes and continuous lectures to help students learn.
Other: I am doing B.A. (2022-2025), and they provide various subjects to choose from, divided into departments. The university has good infrastructure and also provides diploma courses for students and others.

The college that we had didn't have the placement till now, going to happen in 2026.
Placements: The first batch was going to be passed out in the year 2026. Because of this reason, there is no question about the placements. But it does not mean that we are not going to get placements. There is a hope of the placement in the college itself. For that, we want to apply in the placement cell. And I'm happily informing you that my college student got the placement in Microsoft with a decent figure of package.
Infrastructure: The college had beautiful infrastructure and the faculty was very supportive to achieve your goals in life. The library we have is the one which was opened by Nehru ji, and the classroom we have is partially digital. We also have labs with a decent count of equipment.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable, and have a good experience dealing with the students. For my course, the faculty was well qualified and had the knowledge to teach the course, and the part of the course the faculty will take the students to different industries or neighboring colleges of different courses.

Review of Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya.
Placements: Placements are totally poor and only selected students are selected from the college placements. In my course, only 20% of students are placed. Package sizes range from 3 LPA to 5 LPA. Internships are not provided to students but they can work with the college faculty in the form of internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good but it doesn't provide basic facilities like CCTV cameras and water supply. Anyone can enter the campus unchecked and security has been breached several times. Other facilities like labs, Wi-Fi, comfortable classrooms, and all other facilities are available, and the campus is spread over a large area.
Faculty: The faculty is good but their teaching style is not at all good and relevant to the curriculum, but they are well educated from the best colleges in India. Teachers are not helpful to students and the students are left with their problems. Semester exams are tough and students have to study all year.

Amazing university as well as faculty, not good placements.
Placements: After completing B.Sc., not more students are placed, but approximately 15 percent of the students get recruitment after having work experience under the professors. There's no such highest or lowest package, but the top recruiting company is WIPRO. 30 percent of the students get internships, and most of the students work on the professors' projects under their supervision.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure for my course is amazing. The facilities available for the course are very good. The whole department has network connectivity as well as Wi-Fi. Smart classrooms are provided by the university with installed projectors and well-furnished classrooms. Labs are also a part of this course, adding another star to this university. The library has a vast collection of books and is one of the largest libraries in India. The quality of the facilities in the hostel is pretty good and acceptable. The quality of food is good. All the facilities in the hostel are at very low prices. Medical facilities are not that developed, but sports facilities are pretty good. Every year, many athletes play national-level competitions.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful and highly qualified. Some of them are graduates from IITs, so they are highly knowledgeable. The teaching quality is very good. They provide us with practical and application-based knowledge. The course curriculum is very relevant, but it does not make the students industry-ready. The semester exams are quite tough. One has to study regularly and throughout the year to achieve good marks. More than 80 percent is the pass percentage of the course.
Other: I've chosen this course because my aim is to appear for the UPSC exam for geology. The best thing about the course is I can pursue higher studies as well as a good career option after completing the course.

Absolutely satisfied with the teaching, but infrastructure should be enhanced.
Placements: The percent of students who were placed in my course is less than 10 percent because most of the students prefer opting for higher studies. Wipro is the company that hires students after they have some work experience under their professor. No specific internships are provided in our course; students can work on their professors projects under their supervision.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is commendable. The whole campus has the Wi-Fi facility. Classrooms are well furnished with installed projector MS in them. The complete department is designed in such a way that a student does not face any kind of problem. The facilities provided in the hostel are acceptable as they are at a very low cost. The quality of food is acceptable. The college has a dispensary in case of some emergency. A good sports facility is there and many students play national-level games from the university.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and kind-hearted. Some teachers are egoistic also but most of the teachers are lenient to the students. They are highly educated and qualified. The quality of teaching is excellent. The course is very relevant if one has the plan to crack any competitive exam. It doesn't make students industry ready but students are doing well in their lives beyond industries. If one studies regularly, then the exams are really easy, but if one has to only pass exams, then studying a night before exams can pass the student. More than 97 percent is the pass percentage.
Other: I have chosen this course because my aim is to crack civil services. And graduation from a central university and gaining knowledge from highly qualified professors may help me to achieve my goal. Teachers must start giving application-based knowledge so that students can understand the subject better. Many scholarships are provided to the students under many different criteria. Events and fests take place not very often. Good place to study.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: About 45 percent of students were placed in my batch. The highest package was 500000, the average package was 300000 and the lowest package was 85000. Many of the students got internships at many companies and the top roles offered were software development.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for my course / department are average. Average classrooms and labs with a small library. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is very hygienic and sometimes they give expired packets of food. Limited sports facilities are present.
Faculty: The teachers are not very knowledgeable and qualified. Some teachers become angry when a question is asked repeated and they also become rude. Curriculum activities only happen at the start of the semester. The semester exams are not very difficult.
