On JEE Main Cutoffs

Q:   What to do after JEE Main session 2 result?

A:

Candidates preparing for IITs are only required to appear for the JEE Advanced entrance exam after qualifying JEE Main. Students who who secure above the 98th percentile in JEE Main 2024 Session 2 should start preparing for JEE Advanced 2025 immediately. Those who score between 95th and 98th percentile should focus on improving their JEE Main score by taking multiple mock tests and practicing previous year's question papers. By analysing their strengths and weaknesses, candidates can identify their areas of proficiency and topics where they need improvement. If they can achieve full marks in their practice sessions, they can start preparing for JEE Advanced. However, if they cannot score full marks, it is recommended that they appear for multiple mock test series for more practice.

My dream institute - Dr Harisingh Gour University.
Placements: Various companies visit our campus for placements for the institute in Pharmacy department like Sun Pharma. The average salary package offered ranges between 3 LPA to 5 LPA. Around 30-40% of students get placed.
Infrastructure: There is very good facility available for each specific subject of pharmaceutical sciences. Various facilities are available like free Wi-Fi with 5HZ frequency. We have large classrooms, laboratory, and library. Sports and medical facilities are also provided in case of emergency.
Faculty: In my institute, there are very intelligent faculty members. They have very depth knowledge of their subject and social subject also. They are not only good in their specific subject but they also have excellence in other subjects. This helps students to become capable of doing industry work.
Other: Many events are organised by the institute in which we will participate to gain new skills and confidence.

I feel little bit about facility of this institute being very low in the number segment.
Placements: I am mere a student in second year, this is the first batch of pharmacy in this college so I don't know about the packages offered in this course. I want to show one more about the internships which get the students from this course. Some friends attached to me they are in good positions like one operation medical.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure and facilities are available like lab and library. Staffs are quite good. Classrooms are very enormous which provides an appropriate study environment. Hostel facilities at this college are not available. The environment outside this institute is very well.
Faculty: The curriculum activities apart from studies are quite good like cricket, badminton, kho, kabaddi, and chess. We can go higher level in this sports sector with the help of this college, many students did this last year. Teacher and student coordination is also quite very well.
Other: This course is appropriate according to my basics like I am a student who prefers Science in my school and college as well. Indian government also provides good opportunities. We can go into various fields like defense, public sector, and private sector. Now giving chances to pharmacy students in companies so I want to choose this as my career option.

Review of Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalaya.
Placements: Placements are totally poor and only selected students are selected from the college placements. In my course, only 20% of students are placed. Package sizes range from 3 LPA to 5 LPA. Internships are not provided to students but they can work with the college faculty in the form of internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good but it doesn't provide basic facilities like CCTV cameras and water supply. Anyone can enter the campus unchecked and security has been breached several times. Other facilities like labs, Wi-Fi, comfortable classrooms, and all other facilities are available, and the campus is spread over a large area.
Faculty: The faculty is good but their teaching style is not at all good and relevant to the curriculum, but they are well educated from the best colleges in India. Teachers are not helpful to students and the students are left with their problems. Semester exams are tough and students have to study all year.

A boom start to 2025 with a really great university indulging great faculty and environment.
Placements: Students pursuing professional courses only get placed as the placement ratio in my course is very low as it’s a course of arts. Students have to do Masters or go for government exams. The top recruiters are Infosys and TCS. In my course, very few students get placed in jobs of either translation experts or writing blogs for companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very great. Every department has a separate building and classes for the students and a good friendly environment. A very big library is also provided for students with a vast range of books to study with a reading room as a separate building. Hostel facilities are also great as there are 7 hostels for boys and 4 for girls with very big occupancy for the students. Mess food quality is average, and the university has 2 different cafes on the campus. There is a medical department for the students for general checkups and instant medical emergencies. The sports facilities are great.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and mastered in their subject. The teaching quality is great; however, it lacks when topics come to technical advancement. My course is very relevant according to me, and my total course strength is 550, so it is relevant for others as well. There are three exams: Mid 1 for 20 marks, Mid 2 for 20 marks, and end semester for 60 marks. Students have to get at least 40 marks in each subject. Many students pass, but around 10% fail to do so.
Other: I’ve chosen this course due to my own future aspirations. The best thing about the course is I’m doing what I want with the best teacher provided. I wish that the college gets some modern technological advancements with projectors in the classes and refurbishes the classrooms. Our college organizes the Gaur Utsav fest every year, which is very big and very good. An inter-university sports competition is also organized. The campus is filled with greenery, which is very good. No special scholarships are provided in the college, but overall a very good experience I have had till now in my college.

Dissatisfied with college faculty.
Placements: There are no placements for management as of now, and we have to find internships on our own to gain experience. I have only seen a sticker on a board for an MBA package; one single person got a package of 10 LPA, and it was an off-campus job offer.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the new management department is average, but the old management building is a disaster; no one cleans it properly. The department is cleaned once every semester, I guess. Our department is far from other departments; I don't know why. No canteen is there.
Faculty: The faculty for our department consists of almost all scholars. There are only a few professors, and scholars don't know how to teach. Administration is also not good, obviously, being a government college. The library is also not really good; they won't let you borrow books for more than 7-15 days, and the hostel food doesn't provide sufficient food to students.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the facilities and infrastructure.
Placements: About 45 percent of students were placed in my batch. The highest package was 500000, the average package was 300000 and the lowest package was 85000. Many of the students got internships at many companies and the top roles offered were software development.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available for my course / department are average. Average classrooms and labs with a small library. The quality of food in the mess and canteen is very hygienic and sometimes they give expired packets of food. Limited sports facilities are present.
Faculty: The teachers are not very knowledgeable and qualified. Some teachers become angry when a question is asked repeated and they also become rude. Curriculum activities only happen at the start of the semester. The semester exams are not very difficult.
